More than 600 people participated in the athletics relay race in Kazan

<p> (KZN.RU, April 28). 68 teams from general and higher educational institutions took part in the traditional track and field relay race that was held yesterday in Kazan. 612 students of general education and higher educational institutions of the city came at a distance of 3 kilometers. </p> <p> </p> <p> As a result of the relay race, the first place in the girls’ race was taken by students from the gymnasium №5 of the Aviastroitelny district. The team of the school №77 is on the second place, in the third – the lyceum №83 of the Privolzhsky district. </p> <p> </p> <p> In the boys’ race, the first place was taken by the team of the Kazan Suvorov School of the Vakhitovsky district, the students of the school №6 of the Privolzhsky district took the second place, and the team of the school №165 of the Novo-Savinovsky district is in the third place. </p> <p> </p> <p> The first and second place in the first group of the mixed run of high schools was taken by the teams of the Volga State Academy of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism. The third place went to students of the Kazan Federal University. </p> <p> </p> <p> The Kazan Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs took the first place in the second group of the mixed run of higher education institutions. The Kazan State Agrarian University took the second place, and the team of the Kazan State Academy of Veterinary Medicine is in the third place. </p> <p> </p> <p> During the years of the athletics relay race in Kazan, many famous athletes took part in it. For example, champions and prize-winners of the Olympic Games Liliya Nurutdinova, Olga Rukovishnikova, Ravil Kashapov, Firaya Sultanova, Elena Migunova, and Artem Mastrov. Also, there are prize-winners of the championships of the USSR and Russia among the participants and organizers of the relay race: Nikolay Mityanin, Nina Zubrilova, Nikolay Kolchin, Eric Aukhadeev, Vladimir Golovnov, Sergey Shelekhov, Zhanna Afanasyeva, Victor Chumakov, Lyudmila Kasatova, Vera Smelova, Svetlana Opoleva, and many other famous masters. </p>
