A vintage excursion tram “Tubeteyka” runs in Kazan

<p> Today, a 1986 vintage excursion tram “Tubetyeka” has started running in Kazan. The retro tram route runs from the Railway station to the River port. The tour time is about 45 minutes, Aidar Abdulkhakov, Director General of the Municipal Unitary Enterprise “Metroelectrotrans”, reported at a press conference in the “Tatar-inform” information agency. </p> <p> During the tour, each passenger will be able to listen to an audio tour about the history of the city and receive a gift set with echpochmak, ulish pie and a drink. The ticket price is 500 rubles. </p> <p> The excursion tram will run on the restored route No. 2, which was taken out from the schedule in 2018. From July 2, trams will run on eight routes in the capital of Tatarstan. Routes No.4, 5, 5a, 6 will have the same traffic plans, and routes №№1, 2, 3, 7, 8 – will change. </p> <p> “By optimizing the tram traffic plan, we will be able to increase the comfort of passengers, as well as increase passenger traffic by 3-4%, and in the future up to 10%,”- A.Abdulkhakov said. He said that thanks to the new traffic plan, the waiting time for transport will decrease, and traffic on many sections on separate lines, bypassing traffic jams, can become a key factor when choosing a tram. </p> <p> For reference, from July 2, the total tram network of the city will increase by almost one and a half time – from 146 km to 247 km, and the number of vehicles will increase from 85 to 88. All these measures will improve mobility and reduce waiting time for passengers. </p>
