This year, 19 orchestras will perform in the capital of Tatarstan, including 2 foreign ones from Kazakhstan and Belarus.

From August 16 to August 19, Kazan will host the VII International Festival of Wind Orchestra “Fanfares of Kazan”. 19 orchestras, including 7 orchestras of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, 5 orchestras of the National Guard and 2 foreign ones from Kazakhstan and Belarus will participate in the festival. Last year, in addition to 6 Kazan orchestras, 12 foreign orchestras came to the capital of Tatarstan to participate in the festival, and more than 40000 people became spectators. Denis Kalinkin, the head of the Executive Committee of Kazan, noted at the Business Monday the scale of this event and the significance for the cultural life of the Tatarstan’ capital.
“We have a lot of interesting festivals in the city. But hardly any of them can gather the audience of 40 thousand spectators. The “Fanfares of Kazan” have become an adornment of the city”, said Denis Kalinkin.
Daria Sannikova, the director of the Committee for the Tourism Development, introduces the participants of the festival. Thus, musicians representing different kinds of troops will take part in the festival such as artillerymen, missilemen, sailors. In addition, the performance of girls-military collective "Derzhava" from Ufa is expected. the military orchestra of the missile division from Yoshkar-Ola, the military orchestra of the peacekeeping brigade from Samara, the orchestra of the Penza branch of the Military Academy named after the Army General A. Khrulev, the orchestra of the Main Department of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus will visit the capital of Tatarstan for the first time.
The Orchestra of the Cultural Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the RT, the military orchestra of the Rosgvardia for the RT, the Orchestra of the Kazan Higher School of the Ministry of Defense, the city women's Jazz Orchestra “Fantasy”, the ensemble of drummers-cadets of the Children's Music School №13, and the children's brass band of the music school №13 will represent Kazan and Tatarstan.
The performances of military orchestras will take place in the city parks “Chernoe Ozero”, “Krylya Sovetov”, Uritsky, Pobedy, as well as at the Kamal Theater, on Bauman Street, and on the Kremlin embankment.
The festival will open on August 16 on the stage in front of the Kamal Theater with the performance of one of the oldest Russian bands the Pacific Fleet Orchestra from Vladivostok, founded in 1860.
On August 17 at 5.30 pm, the square at the mosque “Kul Sharif” will host a rock concert with rock compositions performed by the military orchestra of the brigade of the Russian Federation National Guard brigade from Bogorodsk under the conduction of Leonid Zagotovkin.
On August 17, 18, and 19, over 600 musicians will walk along the central street of the Kazan Kremlin. The second year in a row, the orchestra is scheduled to march along Bauman Street. Sannikova said that the festival “Fanfares of Kazan” was included by Kazan travel companies. “Now we can say that the festival contributes to an increase in the number of days our tourists stay in our city”, she said. “I am very glad that tourist groups from Samara, Cheboksary, Ufa, Yoshkar-Ola, and Penza come to Kazan, including with the purpose of visiting this event”.
The festival “Fanfares of Kazan” is held in the capital of Tatarstan since 2012. It was started by the military musicians of Kazan. The first festivals were held at the House of Culture “Menzhinsky”. Since 2014, the Kazan Kremlin has become a permanent venue for the festival. Thanks to this, the festival significantly expanded the audience.
