Kazan WorldSkills weekend: gastronomic festival, championship of working professions and activity in parks and squares

(KZN.RU, August 23). This week, Kazan was completely immersed in the atmosphere of celebration and hospitality brought by the 45th WorldSkills Championship Kazan 2019. This weekend, a lot of various events were prepared for residents and visitors of the city. At the weekend, it is proposed to try new dishes at the gastronomic festival “Delicious Kazan”, observe the best representatives of working professions at competitions WorldSkills and join the cultural program in parks and squares.

WorldSkills Kazan 2019

August 24 and 25 from 10 am

The Kazan Expo exhibition center hosts the WorldSkills Championship Kazan 2019. Anyone can see the competition of the best masters of their craft. To receive a free invitation ticket, you need to register on the official site worldskills2019.com or get a ticket at the exhibition complex “Kazan Expo”. Children under 12 years old can visit the championship site only accompanied by adults.

Residents and guests of Kazan can reach to WorldSkills on special buses.

The gastronomic festival “Delicious Kazan”

August 24 and 25 from 12 pm

The gastronomic festival “Delicious Kazan” will bring together more than 70 restaurants and cafes from different cities of Russia. It will present visitors unique treats on the site near the Family Center “Kazan”.

The festival “Delicious Kazan” will be held for the sixth time this year. It will be divided into thematic zones. Each of them will host master classes on cooking various dishes, tastings, competitions and performances by creative teams.

The highlight of the event will be the presentation of the Kazan cake. Guests will be able to try and purchase an unusual dessert.

Traditionally, festival guests will choose the most delicious restaurant. A competition among chefs will reveal the most skilled and talented chef of the city.

In the days of the festival, the traffic will be limited along Sibgat Khakim Street in Kazan.

WorldSkills Kazan 2019 in parks and squares

August 24 and 25 from 12 pm

During the weekend, live broadcasts from the “Kazan Expo”, interactive events and contests from the host, and a DJ performance will take place in the Gorkinsko-Ometievsky forest. Workshops with goods and souvenirs will be located at different sites.

In the zone of lectures and open meetings with the ambassadors of WorldSkills Kazan 2019 and representatives of working professions on Saturday, citizens and guests of Kazan will be able to talk with astronaut Sergey Krikalev. Children will play in the playgrounds with workshops of working professions.

On Sunday, dance battles and demonstrations, hip-hop duels, parkour and graffiti will be organized on the site, and guests of the forest will spend the evening with the musical sets of popular DJs.

Within two days, an entertainment program, WorldSkills workshops with master classes, training and creative interactive events will be organized in Gorky Park. A food market will also work for citizens. From 4 pm, they will be able to join the culinary master classes as part of the project “Open Kitchen”. The evening program will begin at 5 pm. On Saturday, it will be devoted to the culture of African countries. Culinary master classes, interactive master classes by drummers, a DJ set and a concert by Lina&Africano are planned there. On Sunday, all guests of the park will learn about Western pop culture through culinary master classes, the performance of the duo Lia&Ben and the concert of the band “Sakhar”.

These days, a bookshop and lectures of the “Smena” will unfold on the embankment of Kaban Lake. Artists of the Tinchurin Theater and the creative laboratory “Ugol will” show the performances.

In addition, excursions, concerts, film screenings, and a workshop will be organized on Saturday where anyone can master silk-screen printing and screen printing of fragments of exhibition posters.

On Sunday, Kazan citizens and guests of the city will be able to join the master class in Tatar dances “Tatar Biy”, become spectators of a poetic evening from the artists of the Kamal Theater, as well as a concert where Zulya Kamalova will be the headliner.

This weekend Bauman Street will plunge into the atmosphere of dance performances, concerts and master classes.

Kremlin Confederation of Art Festival

August 24 and 25 from 6 pm

The 3rd Kremlin Confederation of Art Festival takes place in the Cannon Courtyard of the reserve-museum “Kazan Kremlin”. On Saturday, the program will be devoted to classical music, and on Sunday to the work of modern youth bands.

Weekend on Kremlin Embankment

August 24 from 8 am and August 25 from 12 pm

Saturday afternoon on the Kremlin embankment will begin at 8 am with yoga on the pier. From 11 am, a CrossFit training session will be held at the workout ground. The evening will traditionally be devoted to dancing. At 6 pm, you can learn West Coast Swing movements on the site next to the workout ground, and salsa and bachata at 8 pm.

On Sunday at 12 pm, citizens are invited to join the free painting lessons in the open-air “Draw, Kazan” on the Alley of Art. At 6 pm, a hustle dance lesson will take place next to the workout ground. From 7 pm, Lindy-hop will take place in the gazebo on the Alley of Arts, and tango from 8 pm next to the workout ground. In addition, to 8 pm, Kazan and city guests are invited to the central alley for an evening of water lanterns.
