The upcoming weekend, in which weather forecasters predict quite comfortable daytime temperatures, Kazan residents are offered many activities, including in the open air. The weekly poster offers Kazan citizens and city guests a wide range of exciting leisure activities.

World Sleep Day

March 16 at 11 am, 2 pm, and 5 pm

This Saturday, Kazan will celebrate World Sleep Day. On this day, educational and thematic master classes and lectures will be held in the malls and entertainment centers of the city. Citizens will be told why human health and life directly depend on the quality of sleep.

Within the framework of activities dedicated to World Sleep Day, participants in master classes and lectures will address various issues related to the causes of sleep disorders: medical, educational, social aspects.

World Sleep Day starts with a lecture “Healthy sleep: why is it so important for health and what prevents us from sleeping well?”. It will take place in several malls in the city. At 11 am, the lecture will start at Pobedy Prospect, №141; at 2 pm – at the Ibragimov Prospect, №56, at 5 pm – at Peterburgskaya, №1.

In addition, educational and thematic master classes will be held in Kazan's malls and entertainment centers, such as sand painting, dream catchers making, yoga, sachets with herbs, playing musical instruments and many others. Those who wish can take part in the campaigns “No hypertension!”, “Is everything OK with my weight?” and measure the blood pressure and body mass.

Nordic walking race

March 16 at 12 pm

A mass Nordic walking race will take place in the Gorkinsko-Ometievsky forest. Participants will pass one of two distances: 1.3 or 5 km in the walking technique. Each participant will have their own unique number and certificate. Winners will receive prizes.

Runners need to wear in comfortable clothes and have walking sticks. The start is scheduled for 12 pm.

The performance “Keepers” at the exhibition “Life in Color”

March 16 at 2 pm

the chamber ballet “Pantera” will stage a performance based on fragments of the play “Keepers” by Nail Ibragimov, the head of the Kazan team. It will take place in Kazan at the exhibition of Vladimir Guryanov “Life in Color” in the gallery “Khazine”.

The performance in the exhibition space of Vladimir Guryanov is intended to create a kind of tension field between the movement of color in the picture and the human body in space. After the performance, there will be a discussion of the community of two expressive languages of modern art: painting and choreographic.

How to become a tourist in your city

Lilia Kalimullina, a guide and historian, will tell Kazan citizens how to feel like a tourist in their own city at the Republican Youth Library. The guests of the meeting will learn about secret routes, how to explore the city on their own, and how to become a guide.

Kazakhstan Cinema Days

March 16 and 17

Kazakhstani Cinema Days are held in the RT in the cinema “Mir”. Kazan citizens will be able to watch the historical film “The Golden Throne” free of charge (March 16 at 6.30 pm), the feature film about the artist and virtuoso musician Amre Kashaubaev “Amre” (March 16 at 9 pm). On March 17 at 3.30 pm, the social drama “Oralman” will be screened, which has won numerous awards at international film festivals. Karting Championship of Tatarstan

Drivers of Russia and Tatarstan will converge in the final competition of the Karting Championship in the Rotax Max class at the stadium “Trudovye Reservy”. The tournament will be held on the artificial ice of the stadium that will make the race even more spectacular.

Sprint Ski Race Red Bull Super 100

This Sunday, the Red Bull Super 100 sprint race in Kazan will be attended by skiers from all over the country. Competitions will be held in the Gorky Central Park of Culture and Leisure. About 200 athletes will take part in the races.

The race will consist of two stages. First, all participants will pass the qualifying distance of 100 m, after that, the 30 best athletes will enter the main competition. The start of the races is scheduled for 5.40 pm.

The final part of the competition will begin at 7 pm.

A lecture of the series “Stephen Hawking Universe” – “Theory of Everything”

March 17 at 6 pm

The third lecture of the cycle “Stephen Hawking Universe” – “Theory of Everything” will take place in the center of contemporary culture “Smena”. Dmitry Groshev, a graduate student of the Institute of Physics of the KFU, will read it. The meeting participants will discuss attempts to unify quantum mechanics and the general theory of relativity, to which the scientist has devoted the last 40 years of his life.
