The final of the IX International Tennis Tournament “Yeltsin Cup” will be held in Kazan on March 3

This year, more than 150 boys and girls from 20 countries take part in it.

(KZN.RU, February 28). On March 3, the final of the IX International Tennis Tournament “Yeltsin Cup”, which started on February 23, will be held at the Kazan Academy of Tennis. This year, more than 150 boys and girls from 20 countries take part in it.

The “Yeltsin Cup” is the only tournament of the first international category for boys and girls under 19 years in Russia. Traditionally, the best tennis players from around the world come together in the matches of “Yeltsin Cup”. It is a kind of “pass ticket” to tennis for beginners. The prize fund of the tournament is 25 thousand dollars.

The team of the RT at the tournament is represented by sportsmen from Kazan Elizaveta Dementieva, Polina Kudermetova, Ruzel Fatkhullin, Anna Grigorieva, Maria Bondarenko, Alena Kubanova, Avelina Saifetdinova, Dana Shakirova, Azalia Badegyeva, and Marat Sharipov from Zainsk.

Annually, Naina Yeltsina, the wife of the first president of Russia, becomes the traditional guest of the finals and the award ceremony of the tournament.

The final in singles among girls starts at 10.30 am, in singles among boys – at 12 pm. The beginning of the award ceremony is scheduled for 2 pm, reports to the Ministry of Sports of the RT.

Last year, 48 boys and girls took part in the tournament, and 24 men and women couples in the doubles.
