The All-Russian competition “Teacher of the Year” is held annually in order to identify and encourage, support creative teachers, popularize promising educational ideas and practices, and create a positive image of the teacher profession. Tatarstan teachers participate in the competition actively, successfully performing at the Russian level. Ilsur Khadiullin said that a club of participants in the contest “Teacher of the Year” was created in Tatarstan. They meet with young teachers and colleagues who would like to take part in the competition, conduct master classes and training for them throughout the academic year. Thus, a professional community has been created at the city and the republican level. “We are a good creative site for testing new practices for the Ministry of Education of the RF”, said I. Khadiullin.

He also noted that in addition to Russian professional competitions, the republic supports the teaching community, in particular, with the help of grants. More than 170 million rubles annually are allocated for these purposes from the budget of the republic. “The material and moral support of teachers gives their results. This year we were able to keep the grant support for teachers and develop the mentoring school, which is considered the best one in Russia”, said I. Khadiullin. He added that professional competitions are aimed at identifying the best teachers. Also, they have a positive effect on innovative processes in education and are one from the teacher evaluation methods.
