The Kazan ski marathon will be held at the stadium “Lokomotiv” in Yudino on March 10

<p> (KZN.RU, March 4, Alina Berezhnaya). The Kazan ski marathon will be held at the stadium “Lokomotiv” in Yudino on March 10. Athletes have to pass the distance of 5, 25, and 50 km. Registration of participants, which started on December 5, is coming to an end. The recruitment of participants for a distance of 25 km is already closed. Svetlana Vostrikova, the chairperson of the Committee of Physical Culture and Sport of the Kazan Executive Committee, told about it today at the Business Monday. </p> <p> </p> <p> 450 athletes from 102 cities and settlements of the country have already been registered to participate in the marathon. According to S. Vostrikova, the prize fund this year will be 1 million rubles. It will be divided between the winners of all categories. </p> <p> </p> <p> The mass start at a distance of 25 and 50 km will be given at 10 am. Participants who have chosen a distance of 5 km will start at 9 am. All athletes will pass the track freestyle. </p> <p> </p> <p> Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, wished all participants of the marathon to achieve good results. “I hope Kazan ski track will be smooth for everyone. The number and geography of participants show that one of our oldest brands is developing, and we will continue to support it”, said the head of the city. </p> <p> </p> <p> Svetlana Vostrikova also reported on the open championship and the championship of Kazan in cross-country skiing, which took place last weekend on the ski trail in Chebaksa settlement. The competition was dedicated to the Hero of Russia S.  Ashchimin and gathered more than 150 athletes. Participants passed 5 and 10 km. </p>
