The Day of Gabdulla Tukai Street was celebrated for the first time in Kazan

The excursion, concert, bookcrossing and master-classes were organized for the citizens.

(KZN.RU, May 18, Ksenia Shvetsova). The Day of Gabdulla Tukai Street was celebrated for the first time in Kazan. The excursion, bookcrossing, interesting contests, different master-classes, and the concert where the famous musicians of the RT performed were organized for the citizens.

Although the weather was capricious, plenty of citizens had a good time - the adults and their children actively participated in different entertainments and visited the excursions. Gabdulla Tukai Street is one of the most ancient and interesting ones in Kazan and is exactly connected with the life of one of greatest Tatar poets. Plenty of houses on this street are a cultural republic property. «I live in Kazan with my family, I know city well, but the modern part more, - Gulnaz Zakirova told. - We knew that today it will be possible to attend the excursion of the Staro-Tatarskaya Sloboda, we wish to know more about these places».

One of the main place of the event is Yunusovskaya Square where today the «Tukai yuly» cycling trip has started at 10.00. Here the charge-free book exchange «Tukai&Knigovorot» is being held all day long. And the summer scene has been organised at the yard of the museum of the Tatar poet. Here the citizens were able to watch the literary performance of the actors of the Tatar State Academic Theatre named after G.Kamal.

Svetlana Izmailova, the deputy of the general director of the National museum of the RT, has greeted the guests. «We are glad that the new traditions in the history of our republic and in Kazan history are created, - she said. - Opened in 1986 the literary museum of G.Tukai created its own tradition: each year the memorabilia exhibitions, meetings, events devoted to the Tatar poet are held here. And today we are certain that he is known in the world. We hope that the Day of Tukai street will be widespread year after year more and more, and the street will receive the same popularity like the poet».

After the official opening of the event the women's jazz band «Imagination» performed on the stage, and then the citizens were able to watch the literary performance of the actors of the Tatar State Academic Theatre named after G.Kamal.

Merely at 12.30 the event «Poetic moments» started in the park at the literary museum of G.Tukai where the well-known Tatarstan poets read their poems, as well as the works of Gabdulla Tukai. Among them, for example, there were Zinnur Mansurov, Garai Rakhim, Joldyz Sharapova, Fairuza Muslimova, and many others. «We so frequently criticise the modern people, say that the people has distanced from the literature and books. But in fact we notice a reverse process, - Ramis Aimet, the deputy chairman of the Writers' Union, the merited arts worker of the RT, considers. - For example, in Kazan the «Literary court yards» project has been held for a few years. And it became so popularly among the citizens! Such events are necessary to attract people to truly art».

The fair was organised for the visitors in the park at the literary museum of G.Tukai where everyone could buy different souvenirs, toys, books, as well as a delicious treat and hot drinks.

The different festive events have been held in the museum - for example, the visitors were able to take part in the quest «Tukai and the theatre» which has been held since 13.00. As well today the interactive lecture «History of G.Tukai street» will be held here, the excursion for a new exposition of the museum with a robot-guide and also the quiz will be take part in the museum.

The festive events will last by day's end and finish by the interactive program «Tea Party in the house of Shamila» which will start at 18.00.
