A monument to the Tatar poet and war veteran Fatykh Karim was unveiled in Molodezhny Square in Kazan

The Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the ceremony

On May 8, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the State Counselor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev, Minister of Culture of the republic Irada Ayupova, the Chairman of the Writers' Union of Tatarstan Rkail Zaydullin, People's Poet of Tatarstan Renat Kharisov and representatives of the public took part in the ceremony of unveiling the monument to the writer, poet and war veteran Fatykh Karim in the Molodezhny Square in Kazan.

Speaking at the unveiling ceremony of the monument, Rustam Minnikhanov said that Fatykh Karim's works are a vivid example of his love for life and his homeland. “Despite the difficulties in his pre-war life, Fatykh Karim went to fight for his homeland, rising from a simple soldier to the commander of a engineer combat platoon. This monument is an important contribution to the memory of the generation of winners,”- said the Rais (head) of Tatarstan.

Rustam Minnikhanov also emphasized the great work carried out by the poet's family.

At the end of the ceremony, he congratulated everyone on the upcoming 80th anniversary of the Great Victory and wished good health, well-being, and all the best.

For reference, an unveiling ceremony of the monument to Damir Gilemkhanov, a Hero of Russia and participant of the special military operation, took place at school № 42. The ceremony was attended by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan.
