    On March 19, 2014, a delegation of representatives of the Kazan Executive Committee paid a working visit to the city of Perm.

    On September 24, 2021, under the chairmanship of the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, a general meeting of members of the Association of Volga Region Cities was held, during which the participants discussed the issues of formation of a comfortable urban environment and the treatment of homeless animals. The meeting also tackled the issue of amending the federal legislation on production and consumption waste - Igor Subbotin, Deputy Head of the Perm Administration, made a report on this topic.

    In May 2022, Anna Panteleeva, a student of Gymnasium №2 in Perm, won the video competition «I Support the Olympic Winter Games in Beijing» organized by the Consulate General of China in Kazan.

    On September 21, 2022, representatives of the city of Perm took part in the Mayors' Round Table on «Digital Transformation of City Management» as a part of the Kazan Digital Week.

    On 20 January 2023, the Union of Russian Cities (URG) together with the Administration of the City of Perm held an extended meeting of the URG Board. During the event, Ildar Shakirov, Deputy Head of the Executive Committee of Kazan, made reports from the city of Kazan.

    From the 30th of January to the 1st of February 2023, a delegation from the City of Perm visited Kazan, headed by the Mayor of Perm Aleksey Demkin.     About the city:

    Rostov-on-Don is one of the largest megalopolises of modern Russia, a political, economic, cultural and scientific center of the south of the country, an important hub of transport routes. Today in Rostov-on-Don there are more than 800 objects of cultural heritage, including 470 monuments of architecture, 55 monuments of archeology, 106 monuments of art and military glory. In 2012, Rostov-on-Don took first place in the ranking of the quality of urban environment, which was compiled by the «Urbanistics» Institute for Territorial Development. Rostov-on-Don is a major educational and scientific center. The city ranks third in the country by the number of universities (after Moscow and St. Petersburg). Rostov-on-Don is also one of the largest jazz centers in the country. In 2018, Rostov-on-Don was one of the cities that hosted World Cup matches.

    November 12-14, 2019, Autonomous Nonprofit Organization Rostov Regional Business Support Agency and the Union Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Rostov region formed a business mission of Rostov enterprises in Kazan.

    Rostov-on-Don provided great support to Kazan in Durban, South Africa, in November 2019 when Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin was elected President of the UN Advisory Council on Local Government.

    On September 23, 2020, Denis Karasev, Director of the Intellectual System Center, took part in the Smart City Mayors’ Round Table of cities within the framework of the Kazan Digital Week-2020.

    In September 2020, the Kazan Tourism Development Promotion Committee conducted a joint project with Rostov-on-Don. In the streets of Rostov-on-Don a banner advertisement appeared, inviting residents and guests of the city to visit the capital of Tatarstan.     On September 24-27, 2024, a delegation of the Administration of Ulan-Ude, headed by Deputy Mayor, Chief of Staff of the Administration of Ulan-Ude Nikolai Namsaraev, visited Kazan on an official visit.

    In 2024, within the framework of the cooperation agreement dated October 3, 2024, the municipal budgetary educational institution “Multidisciplinary Lyceum No. 187” of the Sovetsky district of Kazan and the state budgetary educational institution “Republican Buryat National Boarding Lyceum No. 1” of Ulan-Ude held seminars, pedagogical readings on current issues in the development of educational systems, and exchange of educational materials.

    On August 18, 2025, the Ulan-Ude city team took part in the online Friendly Chess Tournament between teams from sister and partner cities of Russia and China as part of the III International Business Forum «SPROUTS: Russia and China – Mutually Beneficial Cooperation» and took 3rd place in the individual competition among girls.

    From November 30 to December 3, 2025, a delegation of the Ulan-Ude City Administration headed by Dmitry Fedorov, Chairman of the City Economy Committee, made a working visit to Kazan to exchange experience in the field of urban space management, parking facilities, public safety and digital technologies.

    From May 25 to 28, 2016, the delegation headed by Sergey Panchin, Mayor of Ulyanovsk, took part in the Executive Bureau of the UCLG.

    On August 12, 2016 the Agreement on Mutual Cooperation in the Field of Tourism was signed between the Department of Entrepreneurship Development, Investments and Consumer Market of Ulyanovsk Administration and Committee of Tourism Development Assistance of Kazan.

    From April 11 to 13, 2019 the 24th Specialized International Exhibition "Tourism and Sports 2019" took place, wh ere Ulyanovsk was present as an exhibitor.

    On August 7, 2019, the Ulyanovsk delegation took part in the Agency for Strategic Initiatives Strategic Session in Kazan.

    City, provided great support to Kazan in Durban, South Africa in November 2019 when Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin was elected President of the UN Advisory Council on Local Government.

    On October 19-20, 2020, a delegation from Ulyanovsk led by Ulyanovsk Mayor Sergey Panchin visited Kazan and personally participated (as listeners) in the Forum of Twin Cities and Municipal Entities of BRICS - 2020.

    In 2022, as part of the «blogger exchange» project, Kazan and Ulyanovsk implemented a joint project on «cross-blogging tour» of popular bloggers. On April 25-26, a group of bloggers from Ulyanovsk visited Kazan. On April 28- 29, a group of bloggers from Kazan paid a return visit to Ulyanovsk.

    Dmitry Vavilin, Head of Ulyanovsk, took part in the General Meeting of the Association of Volga Region Cities, which was held on May 26, 2022 in Izhevsk.

    Deputy Head of the Municipality of Kazan Evgenia Lodvigova took part in the XXII Federal Sabantuy, which was held on June 17 - 18, 2022 in Ulyanovsk.

    Representatives of the Ulyanovsk Administration took part in the I Kazan International Legal Forum, which was held on September 29 - 30, 2022.

    Chairman of the Ulyanovsk City Council Ilya Nozhechkin was a member of the delegation of the Eurasian branch of UCLG, headed by the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, and took part in the World Congress of Local and Regional Authorities in Daejeon on October 10 - 14, 2022.

    Organization of a cross-blog tour within the framework of the agreement reached between Kazan and Ulyanovsk on mutual visits of their active representatives of the Internet community and opinion leaders with subsequent publication of materials about the host city. Each party organized a full program of stay for the visiting group. The group from Ulyanovsk stayed in Kazan on April 25 - 26, 2022, and the group from Kazan stayed in Ulyanovsk on April 28 - 29, 2022.

    On May 25 - 26, 2023, Ilya Nozhechkin, Chairman of the Ulyanovsk City Council, personally participated in the Eurasian training «Eurasian Cities and Global Trends», which was held in Kazan.

    On June 17, 2022, a six-party agreement was signed between Kazan, Yekaterinburg, Ufa, Khabarovsk and the Chinese cities of Guangzhou and Qiqihar. The meeting was held via videoconference between the cities of Russia and China.

    On September 21, 2022, Ratmir Mavliev, the Head of Ufa City Municipal District Administration, made a report at the meeting of the Mayors' Round Table «Digital Transformation of Management in the City», which was held within the framework of International Forum Kazan Digital Week - 2022.

    In 2022, advertising of the Kazan bicycle ride «Night Bikefest» was organized on media facades of Ufa.

    On April 21, 2023, an online chess tournament «Friendship of Peoples» was held. It united teams from Kazan, Ufa, Khabarovsk, Yekaterinburg, Guangzhou and Qiqihar. The joint event was the first after the signing the six-party agreement between the cities of Russia and China in 2022, and was held to strengthen friendly relations. The event was organized by the Ufa city administration.

    Head of Information Technology and Communications Department of Kazan Dmitry Kremlev and Director of the Municipal Budgetary Institution «Department of Telecommunication Technologies» Ruslan Avilov participated in the IV International Forum of Development and Digital Transformation of Cities «Smart City - Smart Country», which took place in Ufa on July 26-28, 2023.

    On October 6, 2023 the General Meeting of Association of Volga Cities, which was held in Perm, was attended by the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, wh ere the new Chairman of the Association of Volga Cities Ratmir Mavliev, the Head of Ufa City Municipal District Administration, was elected.

    On October 25 - 28, 2023 the Head of the Department of Economy and Investment of the Ufa Administration Timur Khafizov took part in the events of the World Organization «United Cities and Local Governments», which were held in Konya (Turkey).

    On November 1, 2023 an online meeting of the round table of participants of the Protocol of Intentions between Kazan, Yekaterinburg, Ufa, Khabarovsk, Guangzhou and Qiqihar was held. Ruslan Ismagilov, the Head of the Department of External Economic Relations of the Administration of the Ufa city Administration of the Republic of Bashkortostan, took part in this event.

    Ratmir Mavliev, the Head of Ufa City Municipal District Administration, took part in the General Assembly of the BRICS+ Association of Cities and Municipalities, which was held on May 26-28, 2025 in Marica, Brazil. The Head of the Main Department of Architecture and Urban Development of Ufa Ruslan Khairullin spoke at the session Architecture and Urban Development. At the General Assembly, a meeting was held between the Head of Ufa City Municipal District Administration Ratmir Mavliev and the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin with the Mayor of Tehran Alireza Zakani, wh ere they discussed their experience and plans for cooperation between the cities.

    Khabarovsk is the administrative center of Khabarovsk federal subject. One of the largest political, educational and cultural center of the Russian Far East.

    There are 23 universities, 7 museums and one art gallery in the city. The World Ball Hockey Championship was held here five times.

    The Federal Ministry for the Development of the Far East, the headquarters of the Eastern Military District and about two hundred regional bodies of federal power and administration are located in Khabarovsk.

    Khabarovsk it is a member of the Association of Siberian and Far Eastern Cities. Khabarovsk is a «City of Military Glory».
