    About city:

    Irkutsk is a unique, old city, ancient crossroad of trade routes, the capital of Eastern Siberia. It is located at a distance of 5042 km fr om Moscow and situated on the banks of the Angara river, 63 km from Lake Baikal.

    Irkutsk was founded as prison in 1661 on the right bank of the Angara river, in 1686 it was granted the city status, since 1764 it was established as a center of the Irkutsk Governorate. Irkutsk is located at the intersection of transport routes, connecting the west and east of Russia, as well as Russia with China and Mongolia. Transsiberian railway and Federal Highway M-55 Moscow-Vladivostok passes through Irkutsk. International Irkutsk Airport is vital stopover point connecting airports of Southeast Asia and Far East with European part of Russia with the CIS countries.

    Of great interest for investing is recreational potential of Lake Baikal. According to forecasts, up to 2 million people can relax annually on the coast of Baikal.

    Modern Irkutsk is a historical city which successfully combines greatness and identity of the historical center and the quarters of modern buildings, traditions of the most intelligent and cultural Siberian city with modern industrial, scientific and educational potential, developed infrastructure.

    The delegation of Irkutsk, headed by the Mayor of Irkutsk, Ruslan Bolotov, participated in the event «United Cities Forum» (UCF), which took place on September 7-8, 2023 in Kazan within the framework of the International Forum "SPROUTS: Russia and China - Mutually Beneficial Cooperation". The Mayor of Irkutsk, Ruslan Bolotov, made a presentation at the sessions «Sister cities and broadening horizons: successful experience and new goals» and «Preservation of historical heritage as the basis of the identity of a modern city». Within the framework of this Forum, an agreement on inter-municipal cooperation was signed between the cities of Kazan and Irkutsk. Also a friendly chess tournament in a hybrid format between the teams of the sister cities and partners of Russia and China was held. The team of young chess players from Irkutsk defended with dignity the honor of their city at the tournament and was highly appreciated by the panel of judges and the audience.

    On September 28, as part of the signed Agreement on inter-municipal cooperation between Kazan and the Irkutsk Tourism Development Committee of Kazan, was organized a meeting of Kazan tour operators with Irkutsk tour operators. As part of the establishment of partnerships and for the exchange of experience, the «Island Tour» travel agency visited the «Ice City «Happiness of Clean Water» infotour under the guidance of the Tourist Information Service. The event was also attended by guests from Moscow, Krasnoyarsk and Ulan-Ude. During the tour, the participants got acquainted with the main attractions of Irkutsk, inspected hotels, participated in various master classes, met representatives of the Irkutsk Administration, ITS Irkutsk, regional tour operators and service providers in the domain of tourism.

    On October 6, 2023 the General meeting of Association of Cities of the Volga region members was held in Perm, in which the President of the Association of Siberian and Far Eastern cities, the Mayor of Irkutsk Ruslan Bolotov participated in.

    On December 1, 2023, a delegation from Kazan visited Irkutsk to discuss the celebration of a Sabantuy in Irkutsk in 2024.

    On June 29, 2024, the Kazan delegation took part in the organization of the traditional Tatar holiday Sabantuy, which was held with great success in Irkutsk. The event program included national games, tasting of Tatar cuisine, sports competitions and a festival of creative groups. An important result of this event was the signing of an agreement on cooperation in the field of tourism, which will open up many opportunities for the development of tourism potential between these cities.

    A team of chess players from the city of Irkutsk took part in a chess tournament within the framework of the II International Forum “SPROUTS: Russia and China - Mutually Beneficial Cooperation”, which was held on November 14-15, 2024 in Kazan.

    About city:

    The municipal formation of the city of Krasnodar (Ekaterinodar before 1920) is an administrative, industrial, business and cultural center of the Krasnodar Territory. The city is located on the Kuban-Azov (Prikubanskaya) lowland, on the right bank of the Kuban river, 1539 km south of Moscow.

    Krasnodar is major transportation hub, which includes all kinds of transport: air, rail, river, bus and urban electric transport (tram, trolleybus). Modern Krasnodar is the industrial center. About 50 thousand people or more than 11% of all employed in the city’s economy work at 127 large and medium-sized, as well as numerous small industrial enterprises. The leading place in the industrial structure is occupied by the food, machine-building, metalworking and light industries.

    About city:

    Chisinau is a city in Eastern Europe, the capital of the Republic of Moldova. The city is situated on seven hills and stretches along the river Bic, the right tributary of the Dniester. It received the status of a city in 1818 after having become a part of the Russian Empire. In Chisinau, you can see both typical buildings of the Soviet period and significant architectural monuments as the neoclassical Cathedral of the Nativity. The domed temple is a part of the whole ensemble of the Cathedral Park. There is also a square with a 19th century triumphal arch, built to commemorate Russia's victory over the Ottoman Empire. Stefan the Great Park is named in honour of the Moldovan prince who resisted the Ottoman Empire.

    On September 23, 2020 the General Mayor of Chisinau Ion Cheban spoke at the Mayors’ Round Table «Smart City» within the framework of the international forum Kazan Digital Week-2020.

    In 2020, the cities of Chisinau and Kazan at the same time joined the UNESCO Network of Learning Cities.

    The delegation of Chisinau took part in the International Forum «Healthy Cities. Healthy nutrition for children», which was held in Kazan on June 1-3, 2021. The Deputy Mayor of Chisinau, Ms. Angela Kutasevich, made a presentation, and also signed the Milan Urban Food Policy Pact. Earlier, Kazan joined the Coordinating Council of the Pact fr om the Eurasia and Southwest Asia region, and the Forum actually became the first Eurasian regional forum of the Milan Pact.

    The official meeting of city representatives took place in Kazan within the framework of the «Healthy Cities. Healthy Nutrition for Children» forum, during which the signing of the letter of intent to establish friendly relations between the city of Kazan and Chisinau also occurred.

    Representatives of Chisinau took part in the 17th World Conference of Historical Cities: «Historical and Cultural Heritage as the basis of national, cultural and local identity» in Kazan on June 24-26, 2021. The Deputy Mayor of Chisinau, Mrs. Angela Kutasevich, made a presentation on the topic «Preservation and development of national languages in a multiethnic environment on the example of the city of Chisinau».

    On September 21, 2021, the Mayor General of Chisinau, Ion Cheban, spoke about the role of smart technologies in urban life at the Mayors’ Round Table «Evolution of Smart Cities» within the framework of the international forum Kazan Digital Week-2021.

    During the visit of the Chisinau delegation to Kazan in September 2021, an official meeting of the heads of the cities took place, as well as a number of working meetings, where the parties exchanged experience in the development of communal services.

    On October 21, 2021, Olga Ursu, the Head of the Office of the Mayor of Chisinau, Advisor of the Mayor, made a presentation at the VII Global Forum of the Milan Pact for Urban Food Policy. The event took place in Barcelona, wh ere Kazan was the key regional coordinator in the region of Eurasia and South-West Asia and the Chair City of the Coordinating Council of the Milan Pact in 2021-2023.

    Deputy General Mayor of the Chisinau Municipality Fadei Nagacevschi had a working visit to Kazan and made a report at the meeting of the Mayors’ Round Table «Digital transformation of management in the city», which was held on 21 September 2022 in the framework of the International Forum Kazan Digital Week-2022.

    Krasnoyarsk is a developed industrial center of Russia. More than seventeen thousand enterprises, organizations and institutions are located in Krasnoyarsk. Leading industries: space industry, non-ferrous metallurgy, machine building, woodworking, transport, chemical, food, retail and wholesale trade, services. Krasnoyarsk universities educate about 150 thousand students annually. The local Siberian Federal University has more than 40,000 students. About 20% of all gold in Russia is mined here.     In April 2016 a delegation from Krasnoyarsk headed by First Deputy Mayor Igor Titenkov visited Kazan to exchange experience in holding major international sporting events.

    On November 9, 2018, a delegation from the Krasnoyarsk Territory headed by Governor Aleksandr Uss visited the Republic of Tatarstan to discuss the issues on forming the architectural appearance of Kazan, improvement of public and cultural spaces, development of transport infrastructure, introduction of road safety and traffic flow monitoring systems, organization of public transport work.

    City, provided great support to Kazan in Durban, South Africa in November 2019 when the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin was elected President of the UN Advisory Council on Local Government.

    On September 23, 2020 Head of Krasnoyarsk Sergey Yeremin took part in the international forum Kazan Digital Week-2020 and made a presentation on "Evaluation of integrated solutions in the field of road safety using Krasnoyarsk as an example" at the Mayors’ Round Table Smart City.

    On September 21, 2022 representatives of Krasnoyarsk city administration took part in the online format at the session of the Mayors' round table «Digital transformation of management in the city», which was held within the framework of the International Forum Kazan Digital Week-2022.

    Alena Parfenova, Director of the Krasnoyarsk Center for Social Communication «World without Borders», took part in the training «Eurasian Cities and Global Trends», which was held in Kazan on May 25 - 26, 2023.

    Gwangju is the sixth largest city in South Korea, located in the south of the Korean Peninsula. It is the cultural and scientific center of the country.
