Residents of Kazan have an opportunity to give a name for the leopard cat. A new inhabitant settled on the historical territory of the Zoo this May– he arrived from the Novosibirsk Zoo.

In Kazan, a one-year-old cat immediately adapted to the enclosure and chose his place - tree branches. There the forest cat sleeps sweetly, and stealthily watches the visitors, Press Office of the zoo shared the habits of the inhabitant.

Kazan residents can offer the name for the cat by leaving a comment under the post in the Zoo’s account on the Vkontakte social network. One of the requirements for the name – it should not contain the letter “R”. The final choice will be given to the staff of the Predators’ department of the Kazan zoo.

The leopard cat (Prionailurus bengalensis euptilurus) leads a crepuscular way of life. The animal has a long and muscular body, strong teeth, long vibrissae, rounded ears, and there is a wide strip without fur on the nose. The animal can reach 90 cm length.
