The Russian Guard awaits those who wish to donate hunting rifles for the use at the special military operation on February 20

Residents of Tatarstan have already donated 668 rifles for the special military operation aimed at destroying enemy UFV

The initiative to donate rifles was launched by the «For Peaceful Sky» charity foundation and the Russian Guard in August 2024. Residents can bring their hunting rifles to be transferred to the frontline at the announced time. The next event will take place on Thursday. Rifles are a valuable tool for countering unmanned flying vehicles. During the campaign, as many as 556 Tatarstan residents donated 668 rifles which were delivered to 45 military units.

«The Russian Ministry of Defense provides rifles to combat drones, but due to the size and scale of the area, the depth of penetration of unmanned flying vehicles can reach 40 kilometers, and additional support is required. In this program, our charity foundation acted as the operator, and we have direct contact with the front line and the management of the Russian Guard», – said Timur Atkeyev, chairman of the charity foundation.

Currently, the enemy has been actively using UFVs against equipment and people, according to a fighter who participated in the press conference. «A regular shotgun shell can be used to fight drones. Fighters have about 10 seconds to protect their lives and the lives of their comrades from an attack», – he said. A gun is more effective against a drone than a machine gun as it does not fire in a group and has a wider range of damage.

The process of transferring a weapon takes no more than 10 minutes. After registering, the citizen will be informed about the next step of the transfer process. The transfer is carried out at the Department of Licensing of the Russian Guard in Kazan. Once the transfer is completed, authorized representatives of military units will come and collect the weapon.

«Gun owners must notify the Licensing Department that they wish to transfer their weapons to soldiers, and they can also visit the military unit where their relative serves, for example», – explained Ramil Kamaliev, Deputy Head of the Weapons Control Department at the Russian Guard of the republic of Tatarstan.

«Do not be afraid to bring weapons, this will not lead to any penalties. I encourage all owners to join this initiative», – said Ramil Kamaliev. He also added that around 250 weapons seized by the Weapons Control Department of the Central Committee of Russia will be given to the fighters of the special military operation.

More information about weapon transfers is available at the reception offices for Licensing Department of the Russian Guard in the Republic of Tatarstan.

As of today, there are 39 thousand registered gun owners in Tatarstan with more than 44 thousand weapons registered.
