78% of the monthly norm of precipitation fell in Kazan for 4 days of snowfall

I. Metshin instructed the municipal services to pay special attention to the cleaning of the roofs and village roads.

(KZN.RU, January 29, Ekaterina Vislavskaya). 78% of the monthly norm of precipitation fell for 4 days in Kazan during the snowfall last week. Additional special equipment was used to clean the city. By the end of the week, the main roads were cleared, said Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, on the Business Monday.

He noticed that the snowfall was even greater in December: 237% of the monthly precipitation rate fell.

“Work on the main roads was carried out within the regulatory deadlines”, said the Mayor. “There were certain complaints from residents but by the end of the week all the main roads were cleaned”.

I. Metshin noted that cars parked along roads remain a serious obstacle. The cleaning is carried out at night but the personal cars of residents deteriorate the quality and reduce the speed of work. The Mayor urged the Kazan Traffic Police, the Committee of the External Improvement of the Kazan Executive Committee, and the heads of city administrations to speed up work on resolving this issue.

In addition, the Mayor instructed the Executive Committee to pay attention to cleaning the village roads and roofs of houses.

“A large amount of work remains for the roofs. We must hurry management companies and homeowners' associations”, he said, instructing Iskander Giniyatullin, the deputy head of the Executive Committee and the chairman of the Housing And Communal Services, to take this matter under control.

Over the past day, more than 8 thousand tons of snow were removed from Kazan streets and 369743 tons of snow since the beginning of the winter period. Today 576 road workers on 294 units of special equipment will be involved in cleaning the streets.
