“By and by” in parks and squares: an open-air performance, a circus performance from St. Petersburg and a New Year's workshop

The winter program of Kazan public spaces includes 87 free events.

A workshop on Ak Chachaklar Boulevard, chamber concerts in the Gorkinsko-Ometyevsky forest, a street performance by a circus from St. Petersburg and much more - the winter program “By and by” has launched in the public spaces of Kazan. It includes 87 free events. Robert Garipov, director of the Directorate of Parks and Squares, presented the winter events in parks and squares at the Business Monday meeting at the Executive Committee of Kazan.

The festive program in parks and squares will begin with the opening of New Year fest site. From December 21 to 27, eleven New Year trees will flick on at Continent Park, Kaleidoscope Park, Uritsky Park, Gorky Park, as well as the Krylia Sovetov and Komsomolets Parks, the square on Mira Street, on boulevards Ak Chachaklar, on Fuchika Street and the main city New Year tree at the “Kazan” Family Center.

Robert Garipov said that this year new events are planned for residents and visitors in Kazan public spaces. For example, during the New Year holidays, a creative workshop will operate in the pavilion on Ak Chachaklar Boulevard, where children and their parents will be able to make postcards.

Music will guarantee a New Year's mood to Kazan residents. A series of chamber concerts will be held in the Gorkinsko-Ometyevsky forest. The first one will take place on December 26 with a performance of the Juna group. The next concerts are scheduled for January 7 and 15.

The headliner of the winter program will be the Uppsala Circus from St. Petersburg. The performance will take place from December 28 to 30 at six public spaces: Gorky Park, Ak Chachaklar Boulevard, Krylia Sovetov Park, Kazanka River Embankment, Uritsky Park and Gorkinsko-Ometyevsky forest.

Performances will also take place in parks and squares. From January 2, the Kazan “Youth Theater on Bulak” will present the fairy tale “New Year in the Arctic!”. The performances of the theater will be held on the boulevards on Fuchika Street, Ak Chachaklar, the square on Mira Street, the parks Kaleidoscope,Continent, Uritsky Park and Gorky Park, as well as at the residential complex “Salavat Kupere”.

Sports activities will be held in parks in a new way. The events will take place on the territory of future public spaces that will be landscaped under the Kazanka River Development Strategy. The first event – scandi-trekking in Russian-German Switzerland - has already taken place on December 17. In the future, citizens will have a master class on kite riding in the Manzara Park, winter volleyball at the Uram extreme Park and a ski tournament on the territory of the future park on Gavrilova Street.

In addition, a “Park trip” is being launched in Kazan. On January 5, a drive around the city will be available on a New Year's bus, making stops on Ak Chachaklar Boulevard, in the Black Lake Park, Lyadskoy Garden and Gorkinsko-Ometyevsky forest.

On the same day, January 5, a Tatar youth concert will be held in the Gorkinsko-Ometyevsky forest, with participation of singers from the Yummy Music indie label: the bands Homage and Noor, musicians Ilgiz Shaikhraziev, Fauzia and Said Olur.

An unusual event will take place on January 6 at Komsomolskoye Lake in Derbyshki. Cold water treatment will be organized in a specially equipped font and a barrel bath, as well as a concert program.

Along with new events, traditional festive activities are also planned in Kazan. From December 28 to January 4, New Year's performances of Father Frost and Snow Maiden will be held in the parks, and on January 1, a concert will be held in the Krylia Sovetov Park, where Kazan residents will be able to feel the atmosphere of their favorite Soviet films.

This winter, the family ski tournament on Lake Lebyazhye will take place on January 5.

The snowmen art festival is scheduled on January 6 in the Uritsky Park.

“All events in the parks will be held taking into account the epidemiological requirements of Federal Service for Supervision of Consumers Protection. We also urge park visitors not to forget about security measures – to wear masks at the entrance to buildings and keep social distance”, - Robert Garipov noted.

Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, hoped that the residents of the capital and tourists will have a good time. “A good program with new events. I hope our residents and visitors of the capital will enjoy them”, - he said.
