A wave of bell-ringing will pass through Kazan in honor of the 1030th anniversary of the baptism of Rus

Celebratory events will be held on July 28.

(KZN.RU, July 25). On July 28, there will be celebrations in honor of the 1030th anniversary of the baptism of Rus in Kazan. The center of the celebration will be the Vvedensky Kisic Monastery.

On July 27, there will be a solemn all-night vigil in the St. Vladimir's Church. The service will start at 5 pm. On the day of the feast, the Divine Liturgy will be in the monastery. The beginning of the service at 8.30 am. At the end of the Liturgy, a festive moleben will be held in the monastery square, in which the clergy and parishioners of the Kazan temples will take part.

After the service, a roundtable will take place in the monastery. Kazan historians, political scientists, and clergymen will discuss the significance of the adoption of Christianity in Russia. Also, on this day an exhibition of Kazan and Zelenodolsk photographers will open in the Kisic Monastery, dedicated to the history of Orthodoxy in Kazan.

Festive events will continue at 11 am in the spiritual and educational center “Apostol” (Chistopolskaya Street, №30). A literary and musical concert will be held in the bishop's courtyard of the martyr Kirill of Kazan, it is organized by the Department of Culture of the Kazan Diocese and the Spiritual Literary Association “Zlatoust”.

At 12 pm, a wave of bell-ringing will pass in Kazan. The capital of Tatarstan will take part in the All-Russian action “Glory to You, God!”, dedicated to the 1030th anniversary of the baptism of Rus. With the blessing of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill, a bell-ringing will sound at the same time on the territory of all the dioceses of the Russian Orthodox Church at noon local time, according to the website of the Tatarstan Metropolis.
