This year, a school for 1,224 students will be built in the Sovetsky District of Kazan under the national project «Youth and Children». The four-story building with an area of 24,600 square meters will have two gyms and swimming pools, as well as an assembly hall and a canteen with 612 seats. The educational institution will be located in the Leto residential complex, according to Roman Fatkhudinov, head of the Sovetsky district administration.

In addition, a new kindergarten called will open in the Yaratam residential complex in the Sovetsky city district. «Social facilities are being built on territories that were designated in advance and in accordance with all regulations, – noted Rustem Gafarov, the head of the Executive Committee. – The growth of the district should be balanced with the development of social infrastructure. Last year, two schools were built, and a kindergarten will soon open on Voznesensky Tract. The former industrial zone in this area is quickly transforming into a residential area, along with the neighboring streets – Daurskaya and Rodina».

It is also planned to build a polyclinic in the Vesna residential complex, as well as a doctor's office in the Vishnevka residential area, which will serve 15 thousand residents from nearby villages.

For reference, three schools for almost 4,000 students were opened in Kazan last year under the Education national project. Children's technoparks «Kvantorium» were created on the basis of schools № 64 and №174. Seven schools in the city have been equipped with IT equipment and software.

According to the head of the district administration, it is not only important to build new social facilities but also maintain the existing ones. This year, renovation works are planned at school № 125 and kindergarten № 415.

In addition, school canteens in educational institutions in the district are being renovated. Since 2019, 35 canteens have been renovated, with five more in 2024. This year, canteen at the engineering lyceum will be renovated, completing the program to renovate all school canteens in the district.
