The section of the Great Kazan Ring Road will be opened on Mekhovshchikov Street in September

Ilsur Metshin instructed to resume the movement of cars and buses No.31 on the previous route ahead of schedule.

In September, in the capital of Tatarstan, traffic will be launched in a test mode ahead of schedule on the section of the Great Kazan Ring Road on Mekhovshchikov Street. Today, the construction of the road from Magistralnaya Street to the Devyataev Street is 90% completed. The Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin inspected the progress of construction on one of the main road facilities of the city and instructed to resume the operation of buses No.31 on the previous route for the convenience of citizens.

“By the beginning of September, we will open a road section along Mekhovshchikov Street in a test mode for the movement of public and private transport. Our residents were very understanding to the change of the bus route, it was necessary to replace the utilities on this site”, - the head of the city said.

For reference, due to the construction of the road section on Mekhovshchikov Streets since December 2021, the route of bus No.31 has been changed. After the opening of the new section of road, bus No.31 will run on the same route.

All work on the new section of the road with a length of 1.7 km is carried out according to the schedule, it is planned to complete construction by the end of August. 33 road workers and 20 vehicles are engaged at the facility every day. To date, the reconstruction of utility networks, household and storm sewers has been carried out, laying of sidewalks and asphalt pavement is almost completed.

Dmitry Kiselyov, a representative of the contractor organization Volgadorstroy, said that the workers will have to make railings and barrier fences, connect traffic lights, apply markings and install road signs. In addition, work on the reconstruction of utilities, outdoor lighting and lawn planting is underway. “The laying of the asphalt is being completed, out of 32 thousand square meters, only 4 thousand square meters remain to be laid”, - D.Kiselyov shared the results of the work.

“The section of the Great Kazan Ring Road on Mekhovshchikov Street is one of the important areas of work, - I.Metshin stressed. - The new four-lane road will connect Pobedy Avenue and the River Port, and will also open up great prospects for the development of the Privolzhsky district. The section is also of great importance for representatives of small and medium-sized businesses, for whom transport accessibility to the industrial zone is important”.
