A kindergarten for children with disabilities to open in the Moskovsky city district of Kazan

The head of the Executive Committee of Kazan Rustem Gafarov got acquainted with the progress of the work today

By the end of the year, an updated compensating kindergarten for 50 children with a sensory room, a music hall and a consulting center will open in the Moskovsky district of Kazan. Previously, the preschool was located in the village of Levchenko. Due to the remoteness and limited transport accessibility, the kindergarten was moved from the village to 63a Vosstaniya Street. Today, the head of the Executive Committee of Kazan Rustem Gafarov got acquainted with the repair work.

The building was equipped with a music hall and a gym, sensory integration rooms, a sensory room, a psychological relief room, speech pathologists' and speech therapists' offices. Also, there will be sports and playgrounds with rubberized coating.

In total, there will be five groups, each with ten people. Now there are 15 teachers in the kindergarten – educators, speech pathologists, speech therapist, teacher-psychologist. According to Olga Kuznetsova, head of kindergarten № 149, it is planned to connect neuropsychologists to work with special children:

“In our kindergarten, along with educators, speech pathologists, speech therapists and psychologists work in each group. We plan to invite neuropsychologists, our children really need these specialists. We have been working in the correctional pedagogy since 1985. Executive Committee and the Department of Education of the Moskovsky district helped us to expand the kindergarten. We are very grateful to everyone who heard us and who helped us.”

Olga Kuznetsova noted that there was no modern correctional equipment in the old building, which is necessary for the therapy of children with disabilities. Thanks to the support of the Executive Committee of Kazan and the Education Department, the concept of the renovated preschool institution included the physical development of children, social and personal development of children, cognitive and speech, artistic and aesthetic development, environmental education.

Rustem Gafarov appealed to the head of the kindergarten with a request to inform the parents about the innovations of the renovated preschool.

The new kindergarten is planned to be opened by the end of the year, repair work has been completed by 99%.
