The judo hall and running tracks were renovated at the Tasma Olympic reserve sports school in Kazan

<p> The Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin visited the renovated building of the Tasma Olympic reserve sports school and talked with its coaches and trainees. The judo hall was completely renovated, locker rooms and toilets were equipped, as well as ventilation system and floor heating were installed at the sport school. The Mayor expressed hope that now even more boys and girls will practice judo. </p> <p> The history of the Tasma sports school dates back to 1959, when the youth sports school was established. During its work, one honored master of sports of the Russian Federation and the republic of Tatarstan, 4 masters of sports of international class, 62 masters of sports of the USSR and Russia, 80 candidates for master of sports were trained here. Now 1014 pupils train at the sports school and 32 coaches work with them. The school has classes of judo, athletics, football, and archery. </p> <p> The building where the children practice judo today was built in 1972 and was not renovated since then, said Rezeda Shurygina, Director of the sports school, Honored coach of Russia in athletics. This year, the school was included in the national program of renovation of sports venues. </p> <p> During the renovation, the roof, floor covering, front and windows were refurbished, locker rooms and administrative offices were repaired, and heating, water supply, sewerage, and fire safety systems were replaced. On the territory of the sports school, running tracks were also replaced as part of the “Sport – the norm of life” national project. </p> <p> 925 judo athletes train in Tasma, and 320 people aged 10 to 24 years train on the basis of the renovated building, including Maria Shekerova, International master of sports, winner of the Russian and European Championships. </p> <p> The students have already seen the quality of the work carried out-training at the school resumed about ten days ago. Ilsur Metshin talked to young athletes and asked them about their sporting achievements. </p> <p> The Mayor said that in 2021, it is planned to create a judo center with a hall for 300 spectators and three tatami mats on the basis of the Tasma sports school. Up to 60 people can study there at a time. Presently, design work is underway. </p> <p> “We believe that this allows the engagement even more Kazan citizens in sports”, - the Mayor said. </p>
