The implementation of the project of the first multilingual educational complexes was discussed in the Kazan Kremlin

(KZN.RU, May 17). The meeting on finalizing the concept and implementation of the project of the first multilingual educational complexes in the RT took place yesterday the Kazan Kremlin. Mintimer Shaimiev the state councilor of the RT, the chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Republican Foundation “Vozrozhdenie”, held the meeting.

The heads of education departments of Kazan, Naberezhnye Chelny, and Nizhnekamsky, Elabuzhsky, Almetyevsky, Arsky municipal districts, as well as well-known, experienced directors of secondary schools of the republic, where the opening of multilingual educational complexes are planned, were invited to discuss the concept.

At the beginning of the meeting, Mintimer Shaimiev once again marked that this project is the no-lose case. “First of all, these schools will educate children who are competitive in several languages. Second of all, we will further strengthen the material and technical base of education through this project. In general, the start is encouraging”, he concluded.

The refined concept of multilingual educational complexes was presented by Rafis Burganov, the deputy prime minister of the RT and the minister of Education and Science of the RT.

The concept was developed taking into account the national, ethnocultural needs of the multinational people of the RT and the RF, the best domestic and foreign educational practices, global trends in the development of education based on the experience of the functioning of the national education system in the republic.

According to Rafis Burganov, the goal of the project is to create a model of a modern multilingual educational complex. It will provide competitive education in Russian, Tatar, English languages, raising the younger generation in the interethnic harmony. The structure of the complexes includes educational institutions of primary, basic and secondary general education, designed to train 2400 children in each one. This is a primary school, a bilingual school, a multilingual school, a boarding school, a country center for additional education.

The Minister of Education and Science of the RT also outlined the main provisions of the concept of basic kindergartens, additional education, cooperation between schools and families, and other important components of the project. A special place is given to the personnel issue. The concept provides the involvement of experts with good subject preparation and multilingual competence, teachers, native speakers, as well as the introduction of international educational programs.

The meeting participants approved the concept of multilingual educational complexes in the RT.

Tatiana Larionova, the deputy chairperson of the State Council of the RT and the executive director of the Republican Foundation “Vozrozhdenie”, suggested approving the name “Adymnar, the path to knowledge and harmony” for all six multilingual complexes in the republic. The meeting participants supported this proposal unanimously, reports the press service of the President of the RT.

From February 2019, the Republican Foundation “Vozrozhdenie” together with the Ministry of Education and Science of the RT and the support of the Ministry of Education of the RF began a project to create multilingual educational complexes.
