In Kazan, 49,485 people were vaccinated against coronavirus

In the next two days, one thousand doses of the vaccine will be delivered to the capital of Tatarstan.

124,513 residents of Tatarstan have already been vaccinated against coronavirus infection, 49,485 of them are Kazan citizens. In the next two days, about one thousand doses of the vaccine will be delivered to the capital of Tatarstan. Vladimir Zhavoronkov, Deputy Minister of Health of Tatarstan, told about the process of vaccination in the city today at the Business Monday.

Today, vaccination of the residents against coronavirus is one of the national priorities, Vladimir Zhavoronkov outlined. He noted that to achieve herd immunity, it is necessary to vaccinate 60% of the adult population.

The head of the Executive Committee of Kazan, Rustem Gafarov, noted that during vaccination, it is necessary to vaccinate as many people as possible from corporate communities. “Vaccination is a personal choice, and those who did it among the first had courage. Today there is a clear understanding that the Russian vaccine is one of the best, people regularly tolerate it. It is important for us to vaccinate all people at risk, those who work in corporate communities – such as teachers, educators, as well as the elderly”, - Rustem Gafarov concluded.

Vaccination against coronavirus is included in the national vaccination calendar of the Russian Federation. Vladimir Zhavoronkov reminded that three vaccines have been registered in the country – Sputnik V produced by the Institute named after N.F.Gamalei, EpiVacCorona produced by the Vector Institute, and CoviVac – a vaccine developed by the Research Center named after M.P.Chumakov.

The vaccine is delivered to the regions according to the schedule. Last week, 33,600 doses were delivered to the republic, including 10,250 doses to Kazan. “Yesterday, Tatarstan received another 26,700 doses of the Sputnik V vaccine. In the near future, we expect to receive 3,200 doses of EpiVacCorona”, - Vladimir Zhavoronkov said.

Vaccination in Kazan is carried out at 41 polyclinics, as well as at three malls of the city daily from 10.00 to 20.00. “Today, we do not record severe complications after vaccination, some have a slight fever in the first two days or a headache. This is an expected reaction, we warn the population in advance”, - said Vladimir Zhavoronkov.
