Medical dynasties in Kazan were honored for the fourth time

Letters of Gratitude of the Mayor of the city were given to 9 families, whose total work experience in the healthcare is more than 100 years.

(KZN.RU, June 26, Alena Miroshnichenko). Today, medical dynasties were honored for the fourth time at the Family Center “Kazan”. Letters of Gratitude of the Mayor Ilsur Metshin and memorable gifts were presented to representatives of 9 medical dynasties. Each family has at least three generations working in the health sector, and the total medical experience of each dynasty is more than 100 years.

The awards were presented to representatives of medical dynasties by Rustem Gafarov, the first deputy head of the Kazan Executive Committee, Ilnur Khalfiev, the head of the Healthcare Department of the Ministry of Healthcare of the RT, and Rafael Shavaliev, the head doctor of the RCH, the deputy of the Kazan City Council.

Rustem Gafarov, congratulating the guests on the past Day of Medical Worker, thanked them for their tireless work for the health of Kazan citizens. “It is symbolic that today we are honoring the dynasties of doctors at the Family Center “Kazan”. Kazan citizens trust you with all that is valuable for a person: birth, maintaining health and life. And it all depends on your love for your profession”, said the first deputy head of the Executive Committee. “It’s also symbolic that you are here today with your children and grandchildren, who are part of your dynasties”.

Families whose total work experience in the health sector reaches 160 years, 300 years and even more than 500 years were among the families that were honored today. Representatives of many dynasties work not only in Kazan, but in other cities of Russia and abroad. “You are real workers, loyal to your profession. Today, we are honoring not only outstanding doctors and professionals, but also their parents who gave you love and compassion for people”, said Ilnur Khalfiev, the head of the Health Department of the Ministry of Health of the RT in Kazan. “Your dynasties have deep roots, and their branches have grown into different cities and countries, but their center is here, in Kazan”.

Letters of Gratitude of the Mayor of Kazan today were presented to the dynasties of Pospelovs, Abdulhakovs-Davletshins-Mingaleevs, Vasilievs-Sabitovs-Mukhametovs, Sitdykovs, Urmancheevs, Podryadnovys, Mazitovs, Fatkullins-Miftakhovs, and Garaevs.

The medical dynasty of Fatkullins-Miftakhovs is one of the largest. The total length of service of its representatives in the field of health exceeds 500 years. As Ildar Fatkullin told, his father Farid Fatkullin, an Honored Doctor of the RT, became the founder of the dynasty. He passed the Great Patriotic War and also contributed to the post-war formation and development of healthcare in the republic. Farid Fatkullin was the deputy minister of Health of the TASSR; he worked for 65 years in the health sector.

Ildar Fatkullin had Ph. D. of Medicine, a professor, the head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology os the Kazan State Medical University, the chairman of the Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of the RT, an Honored Scientist of the RT, the chief freelance specialist, Obstetrician-Gynecologist of the Ministry of Health of the Volga Federal District. He devoted 49 years to medicine. “In our family, about 24 people became doctors. “A huge part, 6 people, is an obstetric dynasty”, said Ildar Fatkullin. “From my very childhood, I knew what profession I would choose. I grew up in this environment on Lesgaft Street, where the old professors of Kazan Medical School lived, many were our neighbors, the father was friends with them”.

“Today it’s especially exciting for me to speak here because my teachers present”, said Rafael Shavaliev congratulating the audience and thanked them for the knowledge they continue to pass on to new generations. “We are honoring not only medical dynasties, but also our Kazan medical school. It has more than 200 years of history. We are proud to come from the system on which one of the best healthcare systems in Russia is built”, he said.

The solemn event was timed to the Day of the Medical Worker. The event was organized by the City Hall of the capital of Tatarstan, the Health Department of the Ministry of Health of the RT in Kazan, the Kazan City Council and the Civil Registry Office.
