The contest of socially significant projects “Good Kazan” has started in Kazan

Winners will receive support and the possibility of implementing their ideas.

(KZN.RU, March 6, Ksenia Shvetsova). Today the II City Contest of resource support for socially significant projects “Good Kazan” started in the capital of Tatarstan. All interested non-profit organizations will be able to submit their socially-oriented project to the competition, find like-minded people to implement it and get support. Representatives of Kazan NGOs and charitable foundations discussed the rules for the competition at a meeting with the organizers of the competition, which was held today in one of the city cafes.

This year the competition among non-profit socially-oriented organizations and charitable foundations is being held for the second time. The first stage of the competition is in absentia; the best projects will be chosen from all submitted ones. At the second, full-time stage, NGO leaders will present their projects for the expert committee. The most successful projects will get a chance for implementation.

Participants in the competition can become socially oriented non-profit organizations operating in Kazan. They can submit projects to the expert commission for projects aimed at any form of support for socially unprotected part of the population, as well as for the charity development.

“Last year, the competition was held in test mode. We wanted to see what we are doing, and what projects are first sent. This year, we want the competition to be bigger, and more organizations will take part in it”, said Marat Ismagilov, the director of the ANO “Good Kazan”. “Resources for the implementation of projects are allocated at different levels: federal grants, republican, city ones, and etc. This is one of the opportunities for socially oriented organizations to realize their ideas”.

He also reminded that last year, 46 different social projects from 26 organizations of the city were sent to the competition commission. 10 winners received resource support in the implementation of their projects. They included following projects: a family holiday “In Kazan”, an inclusive family festival “Hearts of the City”, “Velodobro”, a photo exhibition of families who took pets from a shelter, “A Gift of Fate”, a bicycle race for children with disabilities “Racing with happiness” ,and others.

“Our task is to show that most charitable projects are start-ups. Usually, start-ups need an incubator. And this is a sort of charity incubator”, said Rustem Khasanov, the director of the Foundation “Day of Good Deeds”. “The “Goof Kazan” as a resource center should solve several problems: advanced training of NGO leaders, development of professional and industry skills, attraction of investments, as well as evaluation of results and adjustment of activities. We strive for it”.

During the meeting, representatives of NGOs asked questions about the rules of the competition. Aliya Baynazarova, the president of the Foundation “Blagie Dela” (Rus. “Good Deeds”), asked what requirements the projects submitted for the competition should meet. “These should be socially oriented projects, they can affect different areas”, answered Marat Ismagilov.

At the end of the meeting, the participants discussed the interaction of charitable organizations with trust and government agencies, examples of successfully implemented projects, as well as the organization of training master classes for NGOs.

To participate in the competition, you need to submit an application to the Competition Directorate in Russian or Tatar at dobro@kzn.ru. More information can be found on the website.
