The first day of the VI Republican Iftar passed in Kazan

Rustam Minnikhanov, Ilsur Metshin, and others attended the event.

(KZN.RU, May 26). Today, the annual VI Republican Iftar was held in the Kazan Tennis Academy. Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, representatives of the Muslim clergy of Russia's regions, as well as socially unprotected layers of the population, large families and low-income families, people with disabilities, and orphans took part in it.

The state ensemble of folklore music of the RT and ensemble “Saf” greeted guests by the live performance of Nashods and munajats. Iftar traditionally began with reading the surah of the Koran. Kamil khazrat Samigullin, the Mufti of Tatarstan, addressed the participants of the republican Mejlis with a greeting. The participants of the Iftar performed collective ahsham-namaz.

After the prayer, all guests went to the served tables, where the main meal was pilaf. The menu of the fasting included fruits, dried fruits, water, juice, pilaf, echpechmak, bekken, chak-chak, candy, biscuits.

More than 300 volunteers were invited to meet the guests of the Iftar, to organize the reading of collective prayers, serving meals and subsequent cleaning on the first day of the Iftar. By the decision of organizers, Iftar passes two days this year: for men on May 26 and for women on May 27.

Immediately after the event, Kamil khazrat Samigullin, the Mufti of Tatarstan, and Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, talked to reporters.

Answering questions fr om media representatives, Rustam Minnikhanov reminded that he heads the Strategic Vision Group “Russia, the Islamic World” on the instructions of Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia,. Recently, an international forum Kazansummit-2018 was held in Kazan, wh ere many countries of the Islamic world participated.

Speaking about holding the republican iftar, Rustam Minnikhanov marked that observance of such traditions is very important for the development of the republic and the country. According to him, today there are all opportunities for satisfaction of religious feelings and needs of citizens in the country. “The main thing is peace and harmony. There are all conditions for this and we are grateful for this to the leadership of our multinational country”, the presidential press service quotes the Rustam Minnikhanov's words.
