(KZN.RU, March 12). The number of unemployed in Kazan has decreased compared to last year. As of March 1, 3837 people were registered as unemployed in the capital of Tatarstan as unemployed, and last year, there were 4027 people for the same period.
The registered unemployment rate was 0.59% of the labor force, last year, it was 0.62%. The average duration of unemployment in the city is 4.7 months.
The largest number of the unemployed is registered in the Sovetsky (809 people), Novo-Savinovsky (797 people), and Privolzhsky (648 people) districts.
The proportion of persons with disabilities among the unemployed has decreased; it was 9.7% against 10.2% registered at the beginning of January. The share of unemployed women decreased from 57.4% (at the beginning of the year) to 54.9%. Also, the share of citizens who quit their jobs, who were dismissed due to release, has decreased. The share of unemployed youth at the age of 16-29 years remained at the same level - 13.3%.
In total, at the beginning of this year, the labor force in Kazan was 645 thousand people, of which 625.7 thousand are employed in the economy.
According to studies conducted by the territorial body of the Federal State Statistics Service for the RT, 3% of the workforce (19.3 thousand people) were unemployed at the beginning of the year, but were actively looking for a job. According to employers, the number of workers proposed for dismissal in March-June 2019 is 568 people.
As of early March, 1964 people are working in part-time employment.
In January-February of the current year, 12.9 thousand people turned to employment agencies on various issues, including 2.9 thousand registered as job seekers. As a result, 1308 people have found work, including 1189 unemployed citizens, reports the Kazan Employment Center.
The number of vacancies announced by employers as of March 1 was 16.4 thousand ones. The largest number of vacancies is represented in the following industries: construction, public administration and military security, social security, transportation, and storage, manufacturing, education, healthcare, and social services.
