(KZN.RU, May 15). On May 17, the official cup of the FIFA World Cup will arrive in Kazan. In total, the most valuable football award will stay in the capital of Tatarstan for 3 days.

The FIFA World Cup is the main prize given to the winners of the world championship, but it remains at the disposal of the FIFA. It is made of gold, weighs 6142 kg and is a composition of two human figures holding the globe on the raised hands. The official cup exists in this form since 1974.

In accordance with the existing rules of the FIFA, only the winners of the tournament and the heads of state can touch the official cup. The original trophy cannot be given to anyone forever, so the national team of the winner country of the tournament receives a cup of winners of the FIFA World Cup.

On May 17, the ceremony of welcoming the official cup will take place on the Millennium Square. In the next two days, the cup will be put on the square in a special tent, where anyone can see it with their own eyes and take a memorable picture with it. Visitors will also have the opportunity to take part in the entertainment program and feel the festive atmosphere of the expectation of the largest football event in the world.

The volunteers of the FIFA World Cup-2018 will be one of the first to see the legendary trophy.

The official cup will be brought to the football unified-match, which will be held at the stadium “Tasma” within the all-Russian inclusive campaign launched on the eve of the World Cup. The purpose of the campaign and unified-match, in particular, is to attract maximum attention to the problem of social isolation of people with special needs in Russia and help to uncover their unlimited potential. Participants of the match will be athletes of special Olympics, local football celebrities, representatives of the government of Tatarstan and the administration of Kazan, as well as representatives of the Coca-Cola system in Russia.

In addition, the trophy will visit the family charity hotel “The House of Ronald McDonald”.

Kazan will be the fifth stop in the route of the official cup tour in Russia this year after Vladivostok, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, and Samara. Then the legendary trophy will visit four more Russian cities: Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov-on-Don, St. Petersburg, and Moscow.

The official opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup was held on September 9, 2017, at the stadium “Luzhniki” in Moscow. After that, the legendary trophy visited 16 Russian cities: Krasnoyarsk, Omsk, Chelyabinsk, Ufa, Perm, Penza, Saransk, Yaroslavl, Kaliningrad, Tula, Kursk, Voronezh, Saratov, Volgograd, Krasnodar, and Sochi. From January to April this year, the official cup was on an international voyage. During this time, the trophy visited 91 cities in 51 countries, and then returned to Russia, said the organizers.
