Two planes with 198 Tatarstan citizens will arrive in Kazan from abroad

Kazan doctors managed to relieve the condition of two critically ill patients with COVID-19.

Today, two flights from Antalya and Goa with citizens of the republic are expected to arrive to the Kazan International airport. Tatarstan citizens who returned from abroad will be accommodated at the Livadia and Vasilievsky sanatoriums for the quarantine period. This was announced today at a meeting of the headquarters for combating the spread of coronavirus by first deputy head of the Executive Committee Rustam Gafarov. The headquarters was held by Denis Kalinkin, head of the Executive Committee of Kazan.

198 Tatarstan citizens will be delivered to Kazan by two flights, R.Gafarov said. Earlier, on April 16, the first plane arrived in the capital of Tatarstan with Tatarstan citizens who returned from overseas. Special facilities were deployed for them, where 111 people have been tested, but no positive results were found – all are healthy. In total, 1,187 beds have been prepared in 7 facilities – health camps, hotels and sanatoriums-for citizens coming from countries where coronavirus infection is registered. They provide comfortable living conditions and, if necessary, medical care.

In addition, R.Gafarov noted that according to the results of Monday, the city headquarters of volunteers received 100 requests from senior citizens for the delivery of medicines or food, 96 of them were carried out the same day.

The second shipment of food packages for the beneficiary category of schoolchildren has almost been completed. The packages are designed for 10 school days and include buckwheat, rice, flour, sugar, nuggets, juice, milk, tea and cookies. For today, 23.3 thousand people have received them. The remaining thousand packages will be distributed in the next few days.

Besides, duty groups continue to work in kindergartens in Kazan. Today there are 848 children in them.

Ildar Shakirov, deputy head of the Executive Committee of Kazan, reported that presently, 71 thousand employees out of 126 thousand are working at large enterprises of Kazan that are related to the system-forming ones. Therefore, it is extremely important to observe a special safety regime at these enterprises, including checking the health of employees, separation of the staff flow during the work, regular hand disinfection by employees, etc.

Vladimir Zhavoronkov, Deputy Minister of Health of Tatarstan, provided latest information on preventing the spread of infection. According to him, the situation in medical institutions remains stable. To date, the provision hospitals have deployed a reserve of beds for COVID-19 patients. He said that doctors managed to achieve positive dynamics for two critically ill patients with the COVID-19. Doctors fought for the life of one of them for more than a week. Presently, he is already taken off the ventilator, breathing on his own, began to walk and eat. The second patient is still on breathing machine, but his state of health has improved significantly.

The situation report was presented by the head of the Kazan Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Alexander Mishchikhin. During the day, 178 reports were prepared on violation the rules of self-isolation, as well as against 4 entities. In particular, the report was drawn up to a Kazan citizen who violated the quarantine regime. Earlier, he arrived from abroad, and at the request of sanitary doctors had to stay at home for 14 days.
