Ilsur Metshin inspected the progress of work on renewal utilities.
In July, the second stage of reconstruction of the third northern sewer will begin in Kazan –on Yamasheva Avenue from Adoratsky Street to Amirkhana Street. Now work is underway on Chistopolskaya Street, where temporary pipelines have been installed and the sewer is being flushed. The Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin inspected the progress of reconstruction.
“Large-scale reconstruction of the third northern sewer is crucial. Despite the fact that the networks were laid about 40 years ago, the active use of household chemicals has turned sewer pipes into a sieve, - the head of the city noted. - To date, builders and maintenance services have found all the necessary solutions to complete the reconstruction of the three worn-out sections of the sewer.
The total length of the sewer, built in 1985 to collect and remove wastewater in Novo-Savinovsky and Sovetsky districts, including the village of Derbyshki, is 8 km. By December, it is planned to repair more than 2 km of utilities in disrepair in three stages.
The sewer section along Chistopolskaya St., from Meridiannaya St. to Bondarenko St., with a length of 760 meters, is the most difficult, the Mayor noted, since the work will be carried out in the middle of a residential area with heavy traffic. To date, workers have completed the construction of three out of the six wells, as well as the reconstruction of two existing wells. In addition, six temporary pipelines with a total length of 1.95 km and six encasement pipes were laid along Meridiannaya Street for the installation of temporary pumping lines. Now the workers have started flushing the sewer at 26/5 on Chistopolskaya St., First deputy director of the Municipal Unitary Enterprise Vodokanal Marat Salakhov told the head of the city. About 50 people and 30 special vehicles work at the facility every day.
Restoration of the pipeline is carried out by the plastic sleeve method and spiral winding technology with a lock connection. Marat Salakhov said that in the near future the workers will start laying the sleeve, which is a special fabric impregnated with polymer resin. The length of one sleeve is from 50 to 70 m. That is, every 50-70 m, a pit is made, a sleeve is laid under the ground, and then it is straightened by a stream of water and fills all existing holes.
Next month, the work will also begin on the site along Yamasheva Ave., from Adoratsky St. to Amirkhana St., with a length of 850 meters. “Now the design estimate documentation is undergoing state examination,”- said the first deputy director of Vodokanal. In addition, documentation is being prepared for work on the pipeline section along Amirkhana Street, from Chetaeva Street to Chistopolskaya Street, with a length of 700 meters. “Work on the first two sections is planned to be completed by September, and on the third – by the end of the year,”- M. Salakhov reported.
For reference, the reconstruction of the third northern sewer began in February 2022. Over the past 10 years, 43 sinkhole collapses have occurred on it, 25 of them in 2021, all of them have been repaired. The sewer serves more than 850 apartment buildings with 220 thousand residents, 56 kindergartens, 27 schools, 4 hospitals and 200 administrative buildings.
