Renovation of nine schools of the Vakhitovsky and Privolzhsky districts is planned this year in Kazan

<p> This year, nine schools in the Vakhitovsky and Privolzhsky districts of Kazan will be renovated. It is also planned to overhaul six school canteens. This was announced by Albert Salikhov, head of the district administration, at the Business Monday meeting. </p> <p> A. Salikhov reported that in 2022, five schools were renovated in the districts. In two institutions – the Center for Children's Technical Creativity and school No.98 on Gorkogo Street – work is underway. Both buildings are cultural heritage sites. </p> <p> Last year, seven new school restaurants were opened and 6 more are planned to be renovated this year. In just 3 years, 31 school canteens were renovated. A.Salikhov thanked the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Deputy of the State Council of the republic of Tatarstan Marat Akhmetov and the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin for their support – an extension to gymnasium No. 18 was opened in the Privolzhsky district. </p> <p> The construction of the second building of school No.186 for 1,501 students is being completed. By the new school year, the institution will welcome 4 thousand students. The educational institution will be the first in Kazan, where children will do triathlon in physical education classes. </p> <p> Repair works also started at four kindergartens in 2022, which are attended by more than 860 kids. In two of them, the work will be completed this year. </p> <p> A new dormitory with an area of 9,000 square meters was opened in 2022 for 800 students of Kazan State Agrarian University. 16th scientific and educational center “Osnovy” has opened in Kazan State University of Architecture and Engineering. After the renovation, it is planned to open a dormitory and a co-working for students of the Kazan State Medical University. </p> <p> The head of the district administration paid special attention to the safety of educational institutions. Ten checkpoints were equipped at 9 schools, new fences were installed at 67. More than five-hundred additional surveillance cameras have also been installed. </p> <p> The number of visitors to the renovated library on Mavlyutova Street increased by 30%. </p> <p> Albert Salikhov reminded that after the restoration work in the historical building of the XIX century on Gorkogo Street, the children's music school No.1 was opened, which was equipped with musical instruments of domestic production. </p> <p> The development of projects for the reconstruction of the Olymp Children's Activity Center and the Center of Children's Activity named after A. Alish is being completed. </p> <p> In 2022, after the renovation, the library No. 13 was opened on Mavlyutova Street. The square in front of the library with an area of 1,300 sq.m was also improved. Perennial plants and trees were planted on the territory, a recreation area with mirrored benches was equipped. The number of visitors to the library has increased by 30%, the head of the district administration noted. </p>
