On August 11, Muslims will celebrate Eid al-Adha, one of the main holidays in Islam. It means the end of the Hajj. Traditionally, there is an action “Feed those in need” on the eve of the holiday in Kazan when everyone can buy a lamb from the foundation “Zakyat” and give the meat to those in need. The fund deals with all organizational issues from the purchase of meat to its distribution.

Charity and social events on the eve of the holiday began in July, said Bulat Mardanov. On August 4, “Ak Bars” players Emil Garipov and Albert Yarullin met with the young wards of the foundation “Zakyat” and organized free hairdressing services for them in the barbershop.
This year, public celebrations will be held in public spaces of the city. “Eid al-Adha today is not only a religious, but also a public holiday. Our population should see the fullness of such a noble action as Eid al-Adha”, said Rustem Khazrat Valiulin, the first deputy mufti of Tatarstan. The central venue for the celebration will be Gorky Park. On August 11 at 1 pm, the family holiday “Kurban-Fest: Give Warmth!” will start there.
