More than 3.5 thousand policemen will ensure the safety of Tatarstan residents on Victory Day

During mass celebrations, law enforcement agencies will switch to an enhanced mode of operation.

(KZN.RU, April 30, Alina Berezhnaya). On May 9, the security of Tatarstan residents will be provided by more than 3.5 thousand employees of the internal affairs agencies, about 400 employees and military personnel of the Office of the Federal Service of the National Guard of the RF and 250 cadets of educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In addition, volunteer squads and municipal employees will be involved in providing security. Rustam Ibragimov, head of the public order organization and interaction with the executive authorities of the RT, announced this today at the briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the RT.

He noted that all places of ceremonial events and the surrounding areas will be examined by police officers using machinery and the involvement of service dogs and surrounded by barrier fences. In total, more than 5 thousand metal fences, 155 stationary and 406 metal detectors will be used in the republic.

Traditionally, the most popular events will be held in Kazan. 5 inspection points will be installed for the admission of residents to the Victory Parade, which will be held on the Millennium Square: from the side of Moskovskaya, Bauman streets, Kremlevskaya Embankment and exits from the metro station “Kremlevskaya”.

In addition, events for the preservation of monuments will be held in the republic. From May 1, the protection of monuments of military glory, monuments and burial places of soldiers of the Great Patriotic War will be enhanced. Municipal employees and employees of private security organizations are also involved in the protection of Victory Memorials.

R. Ibragimov reminded that a temporary restriction of the traffic movement will be established in Kazan during the preparation and holding of solemn events dedicated to the celebration of the 74th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Restrictions are introduced since May 6 due to the rehearsals of the Victory Parade.

In total, more than 120 celebrations are planned in Kazan in honor of the celebration of Victory Day.

Traditionally, solemn events will begin with a memorial ceremony of laying flowers at the Archangel and Arsk cemeteries and at the eternal flame in Pobedy Park. The main site of the celebration will be the Millennium Square, where the Victory Parade will begin at 10 am. More than 2 thousand soldiers of the Kazan garrison will march and the legendary IS, IS-3 and T-34 tanks will pass in the parade.

Also, an important part of the holiday will be the annual action “Immortal Regiment”, the gathering of participants to which starts at 1 pm.

The celebration of Victory Day will end with colorful fireworks at 10 pm.
