Kazan will host the anniversary book festival in December

<p> (KZN.RU, November 7). On December 8 and 9, the CCC “Smena” will host the tenth-anniversary book festival. The organizers prepared a two-day intellectual literature fair, an extensive educational program for children and adults, as well as musical tours of important cultural places of the city, a concert, and an exhibition. The event will be dedicated to finding the answer to the question “What's next?” and the discussion of the main trends of the near and distant future. </p> <p> </p> <p> Guests of the fair will be the first to evaluate the novelties of leading Russian publishing houses and bookstores representing intellectual literature. They release their main novelties at the beginning of December. The participants of the festival will have the opportunity to purchase new interesting literature with no extra charges. Employees of publishing houses promise to help make the right choice. </p> <p> </p> <p> At the lectures of the festival, the heads of book publishers will set the intellectual agenda in Russia. They will try to answer the main question “What to do?” and will talk about the main cultural trends of 2019. Representatives of natural sciences will offer their views on the problem and tell what development is expected in their scientific disciplines and how this may affect the lives of ordinary people and their view of the world. </p> <p> </p> <p> As part of the children's program, the younger generation will learn about the history of life and rare species of animals, plants and birds. The master classes will touch upon the problems of ecology and the future of the planet. </p> <p> </p> <p> These days are significant for the center of modern culture because it celebrates its first anniversary, five years. In 2013, it began its activities with the fair as part of this book festival. At this year’s event, the team of “Smena” promises to present its long-term projects and plans for 2019. </p> <p> </p> <p> The festival is held with the support of the Kazan City Hall, the Ministry of Culture of the RT, and the Foundation for the Support of Contemporary Art “Zhivoy Gorod”. </p> <p> </p> <p> The event will be held on December 8 and 9 from 12 pm to 8 pm, reports CCC “Smena”. </p>
