<p> Over the past 12 years, 118 new kindergartens with 16,820 seats have appeared in Kazan, and 20 more preschools are planned to be built in the next two years. The capital of Tatarstan is the leader among other million-cities in construction and renovation the kindergartens – today, nowhere but Moscow and St. Petersburg, there is no such results. This was announced by the first deputy head of the Executive Committee Rustem Gafarov at the XXXVII session of the Kazan city Duma, which is held at the City Hall under the chairmanship of the mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin. </p> <p> <b>Much has already been done, but there is still a shortage of seats in the kindergartens </b> </p> <p> Presently, 75 thousand Kazan children are educated in 311 municipal kindergartens and 9 schools with pre-school departments, Rustem Gafarov- first deputy head of the Executive Committee, said in his report. </p> <p> “In 2010, the revolutionary decision was made by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov to launch a large-scale program “Belekech”. 18 new kindergartens have been built in Kazan, and additional groups have been opened in existing kindergartens, thanks to which more than three thousand new seats have appeared”, - R.Gafarov said. Following the program “Belekech” by the Federal programs in the capital of the Republic appeared 13,820 seats, added the first deputy head of the Executive Committee. Only this year 10 kindergartens were built in Kazan. </p> <p> For the next two years, a program for the construction of 20 kindergartens has been formed. </p> <p> The construction of preschools is a priority for any large city, said in turn the mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin. “Our thoughts are focused on this subject, at all issues – from the construction of kindergartens to the organization of the educational process”, - I.Metshin said. </p> <p> Kazan adopted urban development regulations obliging developers to provide for the construction of kindergartens in new residential areas, the mayor recalled. </p> <p> “We are very supported in this work by the national projects - Demography, Housing, Education. Much has been done, and there is already a plan for the development of the preschool system”, - the mayor said. – But the shortage still exists. We are considering different solutions to this issue, including the construction of extensions to existing kindergartens”. </p> <p> <b>69 preschool buildings were renovated in the capital of Tatarstan</b> </p> <p> Along with the construction of preschools, major repairs of kindergartens are being actively carried out in Kazan. In recent years, 69 buildings have been renovated, and in 2020, major repairs are planned for another 10. </p> <p> “Presently, we have renovated most of the kindergartens older than 30 years, created new seats for preschoolers”, - the mayor of Kazan commented. He also added that it will be possible to solve the problem of shortage of seats and overhaul of kindergartens only thanks to the joint efforts of the municipal and Republican authorities. </p>
