Rustem Gafarov inspects the progress of the construction of points on Tsentralno-Mariupolskaya and Davydova streets
The first separate garbage collection point opened in the village of Severny. Local residents can now drop off plastic, paper, glass and metal, which will then be sorted and recycled. A Kazan entrepreneur with the support of the Kazan Executive Committee and property management company «PZhKH» opened the point. A second such site will begin operating in the village this week. The initiative to establish these collection points as part of the sustainable development plan of the city was taken by Mayor Ilsur Metshin last year. This year, 16 additional points will be opened in different parts of the city. Today, Rustem Gafarov, Head of the Kazan Executive Committee, inspected the readiness of these new points.
A separate waste collection point opened on Tsentralno-Mariupolskaya Street in the village of Severny. Residents can bring plastic, paper, glass and metal here. These materials will be sorted and sent for recycling. To make the process more convenient for residents and garbage collectors, paved access roads have been built to the 686 square meters site, scales have also been installed to weigh incoming garbage, as well as video surveillance cameras.
Another separate garbage collection point will soon open at 75 Davydova Street, it will be about 100 square meters in size. It will begin operations this week. Previously, there was a container site in the village of Severny, but it could not handle the increasing volume of waste, this led to overfilled containers and a worsening of the sanitary situation in the area.
