In 2020, Kazan citizens will conduct the National Population Census online for the first time

<p> During the National Population Census, which will be held in October 2020, the latest technologies will be used for the first time. All citizens will be able to participate in the census online - on the portal of public services or mobile application. Roman Amirkhanov -head of the state statistics department of Kazan, announced this today on the Business Monday. </p> <p> “In 2020, the online Population census will be held on October 1-25, the access will be provided to all citizens registered on the portal of public services and having a standard and confirmed account,” R. Amirkhanov explained. </p> <p> Also, it will be possible to conduct the online census in the mobile application and MFCs. Each participant will receive a digital and QR code as confirmation. When the census taker comes, it will be necessary to show the code. </p> <p> The Population Census starts on October 4. The census takers will use tablet computers with electronic census forms. “Paper census forms will be used only as a backup method of collecting information.”<br> <br> “Digital technologies are now being used for the National Census. It is important to explain new opportunities to the residents of the city”, – said the mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin. </p> <p> “The Population census is the only reliable source of data on the number, composition of households, marital status, level of education, national composition of the population, language proficiency,” R. Amirkhanov said. The beginning of data collection is scheduled for October 1, 2020.   </p> <p> Presently, the information base of the forthcoming census is being formed, the lists of houses and actual addresses of the population are being updated. In addition, a Commission for the National population census was established in Kazan, chaired by the head of the Executive Committee Denis Kalinkin. </p> In total, more than 3 thousand people, including about 2.5 thousand census takers, are involved in the conducting of the Population census in Kazan.
