488 teachers took part in the competition, of which 91 teachers from 76 educational organizations of Kazan went into the second stage.
(KZN.RU, February 26). The names of winners of the city competition “Teacher of the Year” will be known on March 2 in the Kazan City Hall. In total, 488 teachers took part in the competition, of which 91 teachers from 76 educational organizations of Kazan went to the second city stage. Ilnar Khidiyatov, the acting head of the Department of Education, reported this today on the Business Monday.
“Every year the contest pleases us with new names. The task of the contest is to enable the best teachers to express themselves, to tell about their teaching methods and give them to novice teachers”, said Denis Kalinkin, the head of the Executive Committee. “This is an incentive to move forward in professional development”.
Ilnar Khidiyatov said that the average age of the contestants was 42 years. The oldest participant (in the category “Veteran-teacher”) is 69 years old, the youngest (in the category “Pedagogical debut”) is 21 years old.
Members of the jury were representatives of universities, candidates, and doctors of science, winners of past years, as well as the jury of the republican competition. Participants of the contest had to pass three rounds. “The contestants showed their communicative culture and research competence in the master class, politicians from education expressed their point of view on topical issues of teaching at the roundtable”, said Ilnar Khidiyatov.
The current city competition is the 28th one in a row. In November-December, the district stage has passed, and the city stage was in January-February. This year the city competition was held jointly with the zonal stage of the republican competition. “This allowed us to optimize the number of tests for teachers, increase the number of finalists in the final part of the republican competition”, I. explained Khidiyatov.
