Boxing and Table Tennis Center to be renovated for the BRICS Games

The venue is equipped with a multipurpose hall with stands for 1,700 seats

A Boxing and Table Tennis Center will be renovated for the BRICS Games in the Sovetsky city district. After completion of the work, up to 2,000 children and teenagers will be able to visit the venue.

The area of the venue is more than 17,000 square meters. A multipurpose sport hall with stands for 1,782 seats, gym and training halls for judo and taekwondo, two choreographic halls and rest rooms for athletes and coaches are equipped here.

29 special tables will be set up in the tennis hall, and six rings will be installed in the boxing training hall.

Construction and installation works are currently underway at the venue. Landscaping of the surrounding area is planned to be carried out shortly.

The renovation is taking place under the program “BRICS Games. Sports venues”, the administration of the Sovetsky district reported.

The BRICS Games will take place in Kazan on 10-26 June at 17 sports venues. 4,700 athletes and delegation members are expected to arrive. Competitions will be held in 29 sports (20 of them are Olympic).
