The construction of the Archery Center will be completed by the Day of the City and the Republic

The Mayor Ilsur Metshin inspects the progress of construction of the Archery Center

The first Archery Center in the republic is being built at the Tasma sports school in the Moskovsky city district of Kazan. The new venue will become a year-round training and competition arena. The construction is planned to be completed by the City and Republic Day. The Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin inspected the progress of the construction.

Archery sport began to develop in Tatarstan in 2009. The first archery school opened at the Tasma Sports School. During this time, the school has trained 17 masters of sports, and among its students are winners of the Russian championships and Universiades. Today, the best trainees in this sport are the master of sports of international class Daria Oreshnikova, the winner of the Russian Championship Nikita Vakhrameev and a member of the Russian national team, the winner of the Universiade Ivan Mukhrygin.

«Tasma Sports School has brought up many great champions and received many medals and honorary titles. A wonderful team with strong managers has been formed here. After the opening, the school's archery capacity will double. Besides, not only archers, but also other athletes, such as football players, judoka, and track and field athletes, will have an opportunity to train here. We have all the conditions so that children can train here and become champions», –said Ilsur Metshin.

An archery field, 50 meters wide and 90 meters long, will be located on the ground floor of the new sports center. The new space will allow for regular winter and summer competitions at distances of 18 and 70 meters.

On the second floor, there will be four locker rooms for athletes, two coaching rooms and a gym with an area of 70 sq.m. The newest equipment will be installed in the center: archers will have time-lapse cameras for frame-by-frame analysis of arrow flight and professional machines that allow them to accurately adjust equipment for each athlete.

The new facility will not only become a full-fledged base for athletes but also will also double the number of trainees. The venue will also accommodate other sports school: judo, football, track and field.

Disabled sports is an important area of the school's work. On the personal initiative of the trainers, veterans of a special military operation can train here. Under the leadership of Rinat Kalimullin, the highest category coach and president of the Tatarstan Archery Federation, five soldiers with disabilities are mastering the new sport.

To make classes accessible to everyone, a barrier-free environment is provided in the new building with an elevator, accessible changing rooms and bathrooms.
