The Russian Swimming tournament for people with Down syndrome “Let's win together” kickoffs in Kazan this week. For the first time, more than 200 athletes from 38 regions of Russia and four countries will take part in it: Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Italy, Belarus.
The capital of the republic of Tatarstan became the first city to host these competitions and expressed a desire to hold it on a permanent basis.
“The tournament has an important social event, where athletes and their parents meet in a warm, friendly atmosphere, and the competitions are held in a festive format. There are no losers here. Each participant is a winner,”- Guzel Sagitova said.
The competitions will take place on 4-9 October in the Burevestnik swimming pool. Besides the competitions, a round table with the parents of athletes is planned. An extensive cultural program will be prepared for the participants of the games – athletes will be able to visit the zoo and circus performances in Kazan.
The tournament will end with a creative concert.
