The school in the RC “Svetlaya Dolina” will open in September

The building in the Soviet district of Kazan is ready for 70%.

(KZN.RU, February 7, Ekaterina Vislavskaya). The construction of the school for 800 places continues in the residential complex “Svetlaya Dolina” in Kazan. The educational institution is ready for 70%, the opening is scheduled for September this year. Today, the representatives of the media of the republic and its capital were told about how construction is going on during the press tour.

The residential complex is located in the Soviet district, the school is being built within the federal program “Housing”. It is located on the territory of 11.5 thousand square meters and the total area of the 3-storey building reaches 12 thousand square meters. The school has two halls, separate for the senior and junior classes, a library, a gym, training rooms, and a medical wing. The assembly hall will be able to simultaneously host 278 spectators. Outdoor activities can be held in an internal asphalt yard with an area of more than 500 square meters. There are football, basketball, and volleyball fields.

The school was built on a standard project but future employees made some adjustments. They asked to re-equip the dining room so that 400 people could eat there at the same time, and they themselves chose some finishing materials, for example, linoleum and doors.

“The school is very comfortable. The access for low-mobility groups is also organized at the highest level”, said Dinar Badrutdinov, the general director of the contractor firm “Altyn Group”. “The frame of the building is completed, external networks with the technical connection are made. Today, work is underway on interior decoration and internal engineering networks. We can say that 70% of the work is completed”.

The first piles were clogged in the foundation of the future building in March 2017. It is planned to complete all construction and installation works in June this year, the improvement in July, and to receive the act of commissioning in August. The school should accept students in September, at the start of the new school year.

The contractor also told reporters that there will be a second school for 1300 places in the future next to this one. It is planned to begin its construction in 2018. In addition, schools are being built in Kazan today in the residential complex “Salavat Cupere” and on the Noksinsky Spusk (each for 1224 places), and the largest school in the city in the RC “Vesna” (1501 places). In 2017, the city opened a school in the residential complex “Sedmoe Nebo” and on the 2 Azinskaya Street (each for 1224 places).

"Today the population does not just buy apartments but looks if there are kindergartens, schools, cultural centers, stores nearby. These aspects are in the foreground. At the same time, the construction of one student's place costs the budget approximately 615 thousand rubles. This is very expensive, strict sanitary and safety requirements are imposed with the modern equipment. Schools that were built during the Soviet period and modern ones can be compared like “Zhiguli” and “Mercedes”, said Ilshat Gimaev, the deputy minister of Construction, Architecture, and Housing of the RT. “The deficit of student places is gradually reduced. But demography is positive in our large cities, especially in the capital of Tatarstan, and the lack of places is felt bigger”. According to the Ministry of Education and Science of the RT, it is necessary to build 35 new schools in Tatarstan, 80% of which in Kazan, in order to fill the shortage of study places.

In total, 162 schools operate in the capital of Tatarstan, among which 64 teach children in 2 shifts. Earlier Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, warned that it is important to maintain the dynamics of the social facilities construction due to the growing population of the city. “This is a vital necessity. The number of children is growing, today 120 thousand children are enrolled in schools, and there will be 195 thousand schoolchildren in 2025. It makes us happy. The baby boom that we see in Kazan in recent decades shows a lot. But at the same time, 40% of schools in our country work in a two-shift regime, and we have to accept 75 thousand more children in 7 years”, he noted at the last Business Monday.

New schools are being built by the order of Vladimir Putin, the President of the RF. “Every year the number of schoolchildren is growing. Over the next 10 years, there will be 3.5 million more in Russia. It is great but it is important that this growth doesn’t affect the quality and conditions of education, and the level of education continues to increase. The schools require additional places”, he said.
