The construction of the figure skating school of Olympic champion Alina Zagitova will take about a year, Tatarstan Sports Minister Vladimir Leonov reported. The venue will be located on Portovaya Street.
In addition to the ice arena, there will be halls for choreography and trainings, a cafe, locker rooms and a press conference room. During the development of the project, the wishes of Alina Zagitova are also taken into account.
“The preparation of documents and design project is currently under way. This issue is not quick, it may take a couple of months. We hope, construction will begin and end next year. After the design is completed, the issue of financing will be resolved,”- Vladimir Leonov noted.
The agreement on the opening of a figure skating school was reached at a meeting between Alina Zagitova and Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
Alina Zagitova is a Russian figure skater, she holds the titles of Olympic champion in women's singles (2018), European champion (2018) and world champion (2019).
