(KZN.RU, December 5). The family of mute swans remains in the Kazan Kaban Lake for winter. They can be found on the ice-free section of the reservoir on the corner of Mardzhani Street and Tatarstan Street near the Kamal Theater, as well as on the opposite side of the Nizhny Kaban.

These birds winter easily in our climate, because their body temperature is +40 degrees. The main condition for their comfortable life in the cold period is the presence of food and an open ice-hole.

Employees of one of the restaurants located in the Staro Tatarskaya Sloboda take care of the birds. According to the recommendations of the specialists of the Kazan Zoo, the swans are given daily vegetables and special food for waterfowl.

Residents and guests of the city are asked not to feed the birds with bread and bakery products. Birds are better to bring oatmeal, oats, millet, barley, wheat, finely chopped vegetables (carrots, beets, cabbage, boiled potatoes, and greens), according to the official Instagram account of the Kaban Lake.
