The renovation works of two landmark buildings will be carried out this year.
This year, two cultural heritage sites will be overhauled in the Vakhitovsky city district– the Miry – Mir (Peace to the World) house at 29a Bolshaya Krasnaya Street and the House of Security Officers at 23/6 Karla Marksa Street. The progress of the repair work, which is financed from the republican budget, was inspected today by the head of the Executive Committee of the city Rustem Gafarov.
The house on Svobodu Square was built in 1952 for the workers of the Radiopribor plant and the Aircraft Production Plant. The slogan “Peace to the World” was returned to the roof of the building in 2013. Now there are 36 apartments in a five-storey building with an area of 3,200 square meters. The Main Investment and Construction Department of Tatarstan (GISU) is the customer of the works, the general contractor is the State Unitary Enterprise of the republic of Tatarstan Tatleasing.
In previous years, the cold and hot water supply, power and heat supply, sanitation systems were repaired in the house under the overhaul program, and landscaping of the yard territory was regularly carried out. This year, as part of the overhaul, the front, roof and attic floor will be repaired in the house. The cost of the work is 20.6 million rubles.
Rustem Gafarov inspected the house territory and went up to the attic. As the chief specialist of the central territorial department of GISU Linar Galiev said, the replacement of the roofing was completed by 85-87%. After the roof works is fully completed, specialists will begin work in the attic. Metal sheathing of ventilation shafts will also be carried out, gutters and overhangs will be installed. The work is carried out in the daytime, according to the schedule agreed with the residents of the house.
Restoration work is also taking place in the nearby House of Security Officers built in 1936. There are 72 apartments in a five-storey building with a total area of 6.7 thousand square meters. Workers will have to repair the roof, facade, utilities and perform a number of other works. 98 million rubles were allocated for the overhaul.
“We began to repair the façade and we have already furnished the scaffolding. Dismantling works in the entrances have been completed, plastering works have been completed by 80%, 12 water supply risers out of 27 and 12 sewage risers out of 31 have been changed. We are laying routes for electricity and low-current systems. There will be a complete replacement of utilities, power and water supply, sewerage, facade and roof,”- said Fanis Sagdiyev, project manager. Rustem Gafarov inspected one of the entrances of the house and talked with its residents.
The project was approved by the state historical and cultural expertise and Tatarstan Committee for the Protection of Cultural Heritage Objects. The repair work is planned to be completed in November 2023.
Deputy Head of the Executive Committee Iskander Giniyatullin, First Deputy Head of the administration of Vakhitovsky and Privolzhsky districts Airat Akhmadullin, Chairman of the Land Improvement Committee Igor Salyakhutdinov, Chairman of the Housing and Utilities Services Committee Vasily Lusachkin and others took part in the visiting meeting.
For reference, in addition to two cultural heritage sites in Kazan, 223 apartment buildings included in the 2023 program will also be renovated. The total cost of work under the renovation program is 2.5 billion rubles.
