Rustam Minnikhanov approved the project for the improvement of the hill in the historical center of Kazan

The square will be reconstructed, and the alley of memory will be transferred to the memorial zone in Pobedy Park.

(KZN.RU, June 7). Today, Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, met with the leadership of the Turkish construction holding company “Polimex”. At the meeting in the Government House of the RT, the President of the RT was presented with the final project of the development of the hill on the territory between Butlerov and Nekrasov streets in Kazan.

Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, Olesia Baltusova, an assistant to the President of the RT, Irek Faizullin, the minister of Construction, Architecture, and Housing of the RT, and others took part in the meeting.

The development project involves the construction of a multifunctional complex “Espace”, which includes a shopping center, office space, residential apartments, and public spaces.

According to Erola Tabandzha, the chairman of the board of directors of “Polimex”, the hill and the monument to Mullanur Vakhitov will be preserved, as they are in the security and recreation zone under the regulations of Kazan. The square, located on the top of the hill, will be reconstructed, creating an updated recreation area for the citizens. The chess school of R. Nezhmetdinov, will be transferred to a new location. The project of the building has already been approved, which will be built on Eniki Street next to the school №98. The memorial alley of the Kazan warriors who died in Afghanistan will also be transferred to Pobedy Park in a specially created memorial zone.

Rustam Minnikhanov approved the presented project. He noted that during its development, the wishes of Kazan residents were taken into account. He marked that the project should harmoniously blend in with the architecture of the city, and also suggested using more green spaces when landscaping the park.
