Rospotrebnadzor required all residents of the country to wear masks in public transport, taxis, parking lots and elevators

The decree on additional measures to reduce the risk of COVID-19 spread will come into force on October 28.

The Russian Agency for Health and Consumer Rights (Rospotrebnadzor) required all people on the territory of Russia to wear respiratory protection masks in public transport, taxis, parking lots, and elevators. The decree on additional measures to reduce the risks of COVID-19 spread during the seasonal increase of SARS will come into force on October 28.

In addition, the heads of regions, based on the sanitary and epidemiological situation, are recommended to prohibit the entertainment events and the provision of public catering services from 23.00 to 6.00. Rospotrebnadzor also urges for increased disinfection on public transport, taxis, public places, particularly at shops, catering facilities, theaters, cultural and educational facilities.

According to the new decree, the regions need to ensure the level of laboratory research coverage of at least 150 tests per 100 thousand population (daily average for 7 days).
