Medicinal herbs will be planted, furniture in the style of the 19th century and romantic lighting will be installed in the historical park
The Institute of Urban Development has completed the development of the concept of landscaping the Fuchs Garden. The square, named after the former rector and Honored professor of Kazan University, a physician, botanist, historian, ethnographer and philanthropist, is planned to be renovated by mid-summer. The concept involves additional landscaping, restoration of lost historical elements of the garden based on archival materials and a story about a remarkable scientist who devoted a significant part of his life to Kazan and the citizens.
“This year we will start renovation of the Fuchs Garden. Despite its small size, it is an exceptionally wonderful square in every sense. Firstly, the park is named after our outstanding countryman Karl Fyodorovich Fuchs. Secondly, the park offers a magnificent panorama of the right bank of the Kazanka River,”- the Mayor of Kazan said.
All existing green spaces, including many trees with spreading crowns, will be preserved. Prickly spruce, rowan, lilac, chub, rowan-leaved mountain ash, birch bark, dogwood and flower beds of medicinal herbs and flowers will be additionally planted in the garden.
In addition, the entrance areas will be restored, the stairs on the slope of the garden will be replaced with a wider one and supplemented with a ramp. New benches and other garden furniture in the style of the 19th century will be installed in the garden.
