R. Minnikhanov held a meeting of the organizing committee on the preparation and conduct of the WorldSkills Kazan 2019

(KZN.RU, August 8). Another meeting of the republican organizing committee on the preparation of the 45th WorldSkills Championship was held today by Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, took part in the event.

The meeting of the organizing committee took place at the site of the international exhibition center “Kazan Expo”. Before the event, Rustam Minnikhanov and his entourage assessed the final stage of preparation of the competition sites on the territory of Kazan Expo.

Rustam Minnikhanov assessed the readiness of the competition sites to host the championship. He examined the transport (shuttle buses and cars) that will transport guests and participants of the competition during the championship.

Opening the meeting of the organizing committee, Rustam Minnikhanov marked: we are at the finish line for the preparation of the 45th Worldskills Championship.

“Our country will host competitions of this level for the first time in the entire 60-year history of this world movement”, said the President of the RT. “We understand that this is not just an honor for us, but also a great and serious responsibility. All the views of the professional community are focused on Kazan, and we must once again prove that we represent our country, the Russian Federation”.

According to Rustam Minnikhanov, 1300 contestants and 1300 experts from 63 countries are expected to arrive at the 45th world championship. More than 200 thousand people, as well as more than 1000 media representatives, will come to Kazan as visitors.

“Of course, we have repeatedly held events of a larger scale by the number of participants. However, the experience is not a reassurance”, said Rustam Minnikhanov. “Let me remind you that 2019 is the Year of working professions in Tatarstan. I think it’s right if we decorate it with the outstanding and excellent WorldSkills Championship”.

Rustam Minnikhanov reminded that less than two weeks are left before the start.

“Today we visited the main objects of the championship and saw that they are in a high degree of readiness. The work is going as planned. However, there are a number of issues that I propose to discuss today at the meeting and determine the next steps. We have already given certain instructions and comments during the inspection of the facilities”, said Rustam Minnikhanov.

The main report “On the preparations for the 45th WorldSkills Championship in Kazan in 2019” was made by Azat Kadyrov, the general director of the Directorate of Sports and Social Projects. He informed about the main directions regarding the preparation of facilities and infrastructure, the cultural and entertainment program prepared for the guests, and work on other pressing issues.

According to the press service of the President of the RT, issues of ensuring security during the world championship, accommodation and catering for client groups, providing transport services to participants, etc. were also considered during the meeting of the republican organizing committee.

Concluding the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov expressed confidence that with the close cooperation of all structures and departments, all preparatory activities would be completed on time, and the championship would be held at a high organizational level.
