The President of the RT supported the idea of holding the annual award “Engineer of the Year”

Rustam Minnikhanov and Ilsur Metshin met with the staff of the plant “Vakuummash”.

(KZN.RU, March 15). The plant “Vakuummash” made a serious contribution to the country's defense capability. Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, stated this during his visit to the enterprise today.

Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, Albert Karimov, the deputy prime minister of the RT and the minister of Industry and Trade of the RT, Elmira Zaripova, the minister of Labor, Employment, and Social Protection of the RT, Andrey Lobov, the head of Vakhitovsky and Privolzhsky districts’ administration, and others took part in the event.

Rustam Minnikhanov got acquainted with the exposition of the factory museum. Evgeny Kapustin, the director of the enterprise, presented the products to the President of the RT, which the plant produces since 1959, told about the history of “Vakuummash”, new developments, and the geography of delivery.

The President inspected the working areas of the enterprise, new machines, got acquainted with the process of production of vacuum equipment. The director told Rustam Minnikhanov about priority projects implemented jointly with Russian and foreign partners.

“This year, Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, talked about the achievements of defense in his message. We can see how your share in these victories is also very large”, said the President of the RT during a meeting with the employees of the enterprise.

“The plant works inside the country in the most important sectors, there is an export direction”, said the President.

According to Rustam Minnikhanov, a great impetus for the development of the enterprise is the arrival of young employees. This is facilitated by the fact that the plant has the Department of KNRTU-KCTI. “You are making a competitive product. The “Vakuummash” is the main manufacturer of vacuum machines in our country. We will always support you”, he assured.

“We must always remember the history of those people who stood at the source. You have a wonderful museum. However hard it may be, you have not only saved this museum. You continue to develop it. All the foremost workers, veterans, the products you have made are represented there”.

The postgraduate student of the Department of Vacuum Technology of the KNRTU-KCTI offered the President of the RT to support the idea of making the Engineer of the Year award annually to popularize the profession.

“I fully support. I do not want to belittle the role of lawyers, economists, philologists, and others but an engineer is different. I also have an engineering education myself, it helps me in life on certain issues. Therefore, the prestige of an engineer will be very welcome”, replied Rustam Minnikhanov and instructed Albert Karimov to develop this issue.

“This competition should be held every year at a good level so that more of our young people want to become engineers”, he added.

One of the employees of the enterprise asked Rustam Minnikhanov to pay attention to the transport problem solution. “We ask you to help in the construction of the road through the “Solnechny Gorod”. You are our hope”, she said.

The President said that at the moment there is a design period now, and forwarded the issue to Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan.

“Your team wasn’t the only one who raised this issue. Thanks to our President, this year we allocated 100 million rubles for design, we will know the scale of the work”, he said.

According to Ilsur Metshin, the project implies the expansion of the road, the construction of the interchange, the resettlement of houses, etc. “The ice has broken, your requests have been heard. This issue has got moving”, added the Mayor of Kazan.

At the end of the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov noted that the basis of the republic's economy is industrial enterprises, where added value is created. The “Vakuummash” is just one of those.

“You are competitive because you have a department, a development center, a foreign partner. You work at such facilities, which are very important. This is high professionalism and your skill”, the press service of the President of the RT quotes Rustam Minnikhanov.

The AO “Vakuummash” was established in 1943 as a factory for the repair of tractor engines. In June 1959, the factory was redesigned for the production of vacuum equipment.

The joint-stock company “Vakuummash” produces vacuum pumps, units of various modifications and designs for the needs of industry and agriculture. Export of the enterprise today makes more than 40 percent of all let out production.
